Ditto. It's easier to incorporate a changed thing at 70 into a class where you already had a chance to learn most of it than it is to just go "here's 23 skills, figure it out!" Especially since lots of jobs don't fundamentally change between 60-70. Sure, some do. Lots of them don't, including pretty much all the tanks & healers.

There is a reason so much controversy surrounds jump potion users.
Yup. It's really, REALLY easy to spot someone that used one and just jumped straight into 60+ content, because they rarely do well right away. You need to learn what all those buttons do and when to use them. The more of them you get thrown at you simultaneously, the harder that is. Hiding information about how well you're doing isn't at all helpful to this process, either. There's no simple way to try stuff and see what works in real time unless you break the rules by having a parser.

In a game where content is focused so much around doing enough DPS to kill things before enrages, keeping DPS secret is silly (and ultimately prone to failure anyway given that PC users have ways to do it, which just puts console players at an information disadvantage).

As someone who really wants a parser for personal growth/improvment I don't see why we would limit it to endgame content - I can be doing a full rotation (for any level) on virtually any boss in a dungeon and I'd like to be getting the feedback a parser provides on all those encounters because it's always advantageous to know more and be able to edit as you go as opposed to reaching 70 and entering an EX primal only to discover you've been performing something incorrectly for the last 69 levels.

I say this as someone currently seriously considering purchasing a computer to run this game on despite not having more than a tablet in years literally just for the benefits of ACT.
You remember when I started playing BLM again and I was in Alliance roulette trying to figure out if I was doing it correctly or not... and was effectively blind to that. I fail to see how that's supposed to be a good thing.

    A wonderful analogy

Oh for sure! I don't think that a parser is necessary for leveling content in the way it's necessary for EX+ content, more just a matter of convenience. Like, if we were adding an ingame parser to the game I don't see a reason to only add it to EX+ - it may as well be in all content if this hypothetical parser were to exist.

Oh I do remember. And I bet running a parser during that run might have helped you smooth things out a little quicker for sure.
