What concerns me is that there are players that are not good at their class, and have no interest in improving themselves. Those are the players most aggressively Anti-parser. And for what reason? Just because they don't want to be pressured by the community to pull their weight. Something about that attitude makes me feel uncomfortable. If I felt like I was a burden to others, I would want to know so that I could improve myself. Why would anyone feel otherwise?

You are making very big assumptions here claiming thad the so called *bad* players are the most against parsers.
What about those that are doing fine but are against parsers on principle, not wanting to be confronted with numbers every step of the way?

It's just that most of the time in these discussions, when you go check the backgrounds of people who are most vocally against parsers, either they aren't actually doing the content parsers are beeing asked for (Savage, ultimate, extremes) or their numbers are poor. People who are utilising the tool somehow tend to do better. :P

And I happen to have been swayed by the anti-parser argument... in favor of parsers...

I also have not used a parser, and don't appear to have any logs on FFLogs.
Probably due to me being slow about progressing and getting around to doing stuff.

I am guessing you have checked me out too? And what are your conclusions?

    Haven't had any reason to.

Fine is subjective. I'm not defending the mindset of that "anyone who doesn't want parsers is bad," but I've also met people who consider themselves "fine," some of them being Black Mages who never use Fire II during trash pulls or Samurai who have never pressed Hagakure in their life.

Also, just because a parser is readily available, it does not mean that suddenly it will be okay to harass or demean people over their numbers. Though it seems a lot of people consider even just criticism to be "harassment."

    I"ve never pressed Hagakure...

Likely because I haven't leveled Sam that high yet. XD

Also, yeah, harassment is against the ToS regardless of what tools the harasser is using.
You don't blame the tools for the transgressions of the user of said tools.

Because most of the time, the people that are so vehemently against parsers don't raid (this is not to say they’re “bad” per say, but Savage/Ultimate/Extreme content is the only content where parsing actually matters), or they do but their performance needs vast amounts of improvement, but they don't want to hear about that because "it's my sub", and the person extending advice to them is labeled "toxic". Happens in every parser discussion on this forum.

And yes, time saved is extremely important. Especially if you're with a group who only raids 2-3 hours 2 days a week. I would much rather get clears for, say, V1S-V3S in 30 minutes than spending 2 hours on them. Same thing with Exdeath—I’d rather kill him in 2-3 pulls instead of spending half of V4S’ lockout on him before even seeing Neo. Sorry, but I'm not sorry about that.

But you do know no level of training or improving yourself will cut the time you need in 4. at most it would be like 40 minutes instead of 30. Thats all on the condition that you dont wipe off course and that nobody is underperforming so much that they cause wipes. If you dont hit enrage due to low dps its usually someone failing mechanics which causes their damage to drop due to dieing. you dont need a parser to spot that.
