tl;dr
Pro parser players want parses implemented so they can officially harass players with numbers.
Look I can make pointless untrue sweeping statements too!
They already do have it, Sorta. The dummies in iddleshire from that one guy for seph ex, and the savages ect ect. But if they added a parse to it to let you know how your doing and where your lacking, I'd like them to force players to clear the dummies before they are allowed to attempt the actual content. This way it helps keep "there grade private" but also insures to others they don't have to carry dead weight. Half win for everyone.
Issue with this is that it would literally only be a 'half win' because it'll only test 1/2 of the party's roles. What of tank/healer roles? How do we test for these two roles so they aren't being 'carried'? If the requirement is to only DPS, that doesn't measure the tank's skill at keeping hate, or measure a healer's HPS and reaction times. But if they added a parse to it to let you know how your doing and where your lacking, I'd like them to force players to clear the dummies before they are allowed to attempt the actual content. This way it helps keep "there grade private" but also insures to others they don't have to carry dead weight. Half win for everyone.
Good point, I cant think of a good fix for the tank thing, unless they create a mock situation like in the novice network quests for tanks where they gotta protect npc from getting hit/hold agro. Seems kinda out there, so your your right on that one. As far as Healer that's easy to solve with Dummies, Make aoes and what not that force the healer to move around, while requiring them to Heal dummies. Who will take dmg similar to how a party geared for that run would. and require that you keep the dummies up and running and or only allow for so many revives before the timer runs out. reverse dps check. Heal check. But im totally stumped on the tanking part. You got me with that one.

Whenever I go into any group content where I'll have a duty to complete with other players, I always try to put in 100% attention to the game and do my job especially if playing DPS to kill things as quickly as possible. I'll do what I can to make the duty easier for my party. I'd hit the dummies with the jobs I'd want to queue with countless times to get rotations into a habit. I've never been harassed with having low dps in thousands of dungeon/raid runs.
If I see someone with really low numbers or it's really clear they aren't utilizing their skills properly, I usually try and point it out what they can be doing to do more dps unless it's a job I have little knowledge of. Having a parser will help detect the issue of who's under performing right away. No DPS should be pulling half of what they can actually dish out. Depending on the response I get from my advice and the level of performance afterwards, I'll either just leave, continue on, or initiate a kick for harassment if performance is absolutely abysmal that is detrimental to the group, or from their responses.

Make another dummy a healer dummy. It casts spells like Dummy cure or medica. You have to keep aggro off of the dummy. The Enemy dummy attacks for 10% of the players health every 3 seconds (relative to ilevel) The healer will heal 25% of your health every 10 seconds, again relatively. Every 60 seconds a tank buster will hit for 80% of a tanks HP at the appropriate ilevel followed by an autoattack. After that a dummy benediction, patches you back up. This tries to teach the use of keeping up cool downs, but saving a few, if you know when it's incoming. I feel you should get a score of Aggro% over healer dummy, damage mitigated, healing received, self healing and overall damage dealt, but an in game parser could do that for you.Good point, I cant think of a good fix for the tank thing, unless they create a mock situation like in the novice network quests for tanks where they gotta protect npc from getting hit/hold agro. Something like that, in a sense.

Yep there you go! I like that idea. Annndd problem solved, Attach the requirement said exercise be required to so savage or ex runs of that type, and if said run fails after that, it just means people are mechanically stupid, or lazy. I'd like thinking requiring the dummy checks before being permitted to go into savage or EX runs would help weed out lazy people though. They don't like added effort.
I would like to see an in game personal parser that is based on the traffic light.
Green - Your in the range the Devs want you at for the content. Healers and Tanks do not need to contribute if all DPS are green.
Yellow - Not ideal DPS but operating at the minimums the devs have set. Healers and tanks may need to contribute some DPS if most DPS are yellow.
Red - DPS is insufficient to clear the current content. No amount of healer or tank DPS will help clear the content if most DPS are red.
The meters would be tuned for each encounter the player is working on such as a raid boss or an entire dungeon.
It's the same middleground as SSS. People have tasted cake and don't want to go back to licking Splenda off of Crackers (myself included.) It's also allot of dungeon specific requirements, instead of just giving players a tool to measure themselves, (with actual values.) It's not a bad idea, it's just not close enough to parser.I would like to see an in game personal parser that is based on the traffic light.

Ooh I like this. Except not personal & it shouldn't single out anyone & just be group dps not including healer if they're doing 0 damage, but does include their dps if they are attackingGreen - Your in the range the Devs want you at for the content. Like: Dungeon 3000 green, 2500 yellow, 2000- red party dps
Tank 700
Dps 1 1000
Dps 2 600
Healer 0
Yellow
Tank 600
Dps 1 1200
Dps2 800
Healer 400
Green
Tank 400
Dps1 700
Dps2 600
Healer 200
Red
That might be a bad idea but it sounds nice...
