Would you like an in-game parser?

I dunno the idea that someone is monitoring my game play constantly whether they comment on it or not just makes me feel uncomfortable and it would distract from my enjoyment of the game.

Plenty of people can tell when you're playing incorrectly, even without a parser. I'm watching everyone in the party anyway, a parser would just let me say "You're doing 500 dps less than you should be in that gear, let me help you improve", and I'd have proof so they can't say "I'm playing my job correctly".

However, it would also allow some to say "Hey, you're doing 100 dps less than you should to be with us" even though they're "playing their job correctly"

You can tell when someone trips and falls while walking down the street too, but that doesn't mean you're going to tell them exactly what they were doing at 5:32PM or exactly how many calories they ate for breakfast this morning.

Yes, but none of what you are saying has any impact on those people (how many calories you ate, you yelling at your kid for not doing homework). These metrics don't affect the people in your analogies at all. Your DPS does affect the people in your party.

As Much as I respect your post, sometime you Just put words in peoples mouth and then toss out words like these, why?

I'm not putting any word in any people's mouth. That's why I said it would "allow some to say", and not "allow you to say". And you won't convince me that no one would react like that.
The only thing we could discuss is how much of the community is like this, but we won't have real numbers for that. But yes, I'm looking at the half-empty glass instead of half-full, because the half-full wouldn't affect me in any way.

I am in agreement with this answer totally. Also Reynhart is very much right in saying people will find a mere 100 dps poor dps and use it as an excuse to demean kick or ostricize. I mean read the posts a bit back and you will see that 1200 is said to be decent and 1100 bad.. when in truth all it matters would be : did we beat the boss as a group or not ? And if not well then draw your own conclusions and move on or read your personal parser and ask your friend if you want confirmation of your performance as opposed to the whole world having an opinion about it

I'd be perfectly happy to let anyone in the game monitor my numbers in any piece of content, on any job if it meant they were more likely to accept criticism and play correctly.

When they have that time to watch what others could do wrong in their rotation, they are not focussed enough to do their own job. I did already see some of them and I am clueless what they are able to see, as their own performance was far away from knowing how to do the basic rotation of their own class correct.

(I do not mean 100 DPS less. Its more about 50% and less)
