I do think the demands may have mellowed somewhat as the thread discussion has continued but to say that group parsers aren't wanted everywhere by a number in this thread simply isn't true.
I stand corrected then, I only really joined the topic around page 50-60 where the topic has mellowed somewhat, I can really see both sides of the arguement with that one, though I will say that a parser is not necessary for dungeons as there are no DPS checks.

Numerical values that can be used by those interested by running to an online website to see where they stand in the overall scheme of things would most likely be acceptable to most. Also the idea of enabling an in game parser for Savage only would probably meet with little opposition given that population of players is extremely motivated to do the hardest tier content and would welcome that convenience in venues like that.
I agree with you there, though something does need to be done about complacency in more casual content, not because "good" players want under-performing players to not suck, but because the game does not do a good job of helping under-performing players from learning how to be good at their job at an endgame/savage level, which intimidates a lot of people. A parser is one tool that can achieve this, by giving a lot of feedback on player progress as they learn, but as has been said, counterproductive in dungeon runs and other routes (perhaps the mentor network) would serve a better purpose. Ultimately, we need more raiders in the game in order for the content to thrive, and the game needs to incentivize and train players to be able to challenge that kind of content without doubts.

On a fundamental level, the way this game divides players is what causes debates like this. Casual players stay in dungeons and are too afraid/not good enough to try anything harder, and top level players are tired of having to run with players who were conditioned to be lazy/underperform through faceroll content due to not needing to really try to be anything else. I'm not saying that player who just run dungeons need to do savage or ex primals, im saying that the game should provide them with the skills to do these pieces of content.
