Thank you for the positive feedback on my somewhat blunt post. However, I feel if a player who genuinely wanted to improve their low dps, they shouldn't have any issues with an in game parser in the first place.
See my reason above.
The more we focus on damage numbers, the more DPS checks we'll have, so we'll focus moreon damage, for more DPS checks, etc...
In 10 years of FFXI, I've never been bothered by not having a relic, or a full Salvage or Empyrean+2 set as a WHM, because I didn't let people die. Were my heals the strongest ? Probably not. Was my damage good ? Hmm...no, but WHM damage was crap whatever gear you have. Was I mocked because I put my merit points in Barrier spells ? No. No one cared, because I still did my job. But it was my build, my choices, and the WHM I liked.
Compared to that, this game is bland, it is hollow. And this obssesion plays a big role in it.
And worse...even 1.23 was more interesting when it came to build. Choosing classes over jobs was a tactical choice sometimes, as was choosing gear...but yeah, I'm just lazy, I'm just fishy...and I'm just starting to be bored by this game.
So, if I'm the goalkeeper in a soccer team and we win every watch, you'll bitch about how I didn't stop every ball ? Or how many miles I traveled during the whole match ?
The more metaphor you'll make, the less "it's only for helping" you'll sound...

No. No one said that. Only you did. You're creating these false situations to fit your narrative and that happening would just be absurd. If that happened, people would probably tell the dude to chill out.
Nobody will EVER expect you to do maximum dps even with a parser so I don't understand what your issue is here. Stat diversity is not an excuse, there will always be BIS but nobody is gonna expect every single player to have the best gear. I've seen people in full 200 gear out dps people in full 230 gear all the time. Gear and stats are irrelevant, it's all about skill.
There is already DPS checks and the reason's we want parsers is because many can't even forfill them.
I played FFXI too, I was one of the first people to legit kill AV too after it got fixed. Comparing FFXI to FF14 is a bit hard to do, because FFXI had no balance of classes, you know how it was. NIN was supose to be DPS, they ended up being tanks, RDM could RDM/NIN end game tank at 75. The job system was pretty much unbalanced and broken that people adjusted and played them however they wanted. In FF14 things are linear and you follow that linear rotation, depending on fights you adjust to situations and adapt your dps to mechanics. But the rotatin itsself linear. So are the fight's so you should know when and what you should do. I never tried 1.0 FF14 sadly but wish we kept some of it after all the things I've heard.
But don't get me wrong, I somewhat understand you but same time you make it sound like parser is a cancer and is going to kill a whole game because of the ''toxic'' it can cause. If toxic is the problem you are afraid of, the game would been dead by that logic many uses(not saying you do). There is alot more problems in the game than parser can ever cause.
I think a good step towards helping people is SE actually gives gated content, in form of DPS checks to enter the place, like how Faust wrecks people in M1. Give them some better understanding on their classes, because we all there is not much of it already. Add content that doesn't have super big gap between 24man raid vs extremes and savage. Midas normal is somewhat faceroll content but then sadly we know many can't even do those. Things like these steps would help as well, but then again having a parser doesn't only give out numbers. They give info healers, tanks and dps want. If people can analize their own data they could also see what went wrong or not. Many go around thinking they do fine but when they get told by their good friend they are more shocked than surprised.

If you get ridiculed by someone for not having optimal gear and numbers, they would still do so with or without an in game parser.
50k Gil for every trash pull I end with 1k DPS plus, 400k for every trash pull with me doing 5k plus. Oh, and bosses are pricier, 250k per boss, 75k bonus for every multiple of 500 DPS I reach. And if you want a fully optimized opener, that'll be extra. If you want to start pretending your my boss, we'll have to discuss payment.
I'm more amazed how people takes metaphore somewhat the wrong way and need to add up some random setence into it. More amazed than those who do 500 dps in normal alex not being afk.50k Gil for every trash pull I end with 1k DPS plus, 400k for every trash pull with me doing 5k plus. Oh, and bosses are pricier, 250k per boss, 75k bonus for every multiple of 500 DPS I reach. And if you want a fully optimized opener, that'll be extra. Want me to add something to what you said? Let's say hes our boss and we do dungeons. We are both salesmen, but I out perform you, who you think gonna get paid at all or most? Mostlikely me. Hard to work pays off no? Just something random I guess.

Hey, she's the one that compared it to my boss watching my performance at work. :O Clearly she's implying that she's my boss by parsing me, so it's only natural I'd expect payment.
