I'll be that guy. I've been playing wow for around two years now, a game in which literally everyone uses a parser. I've encountered actual toxicity due to dps/hps maybe twice. Maybe. The vast majority of the time whenever someone mentions someone's damage or healing they give actual advice and don't say shit like "you're so bad, uninstall, unsub you dirty noob" or whatever the stereotype is. 14 absolutely should have one. At least make it in ex/savage and only for the people who turn it on. If they added one that only logged your damage when you opted in I honestly don't see the downside. The number of people at 90 who have no clue how to play their jobs is downright frightening and if there were a way of telling who needs tips that could only go well. If someone doesn't want anyone to see their numbers, theoretically, they could just turn it off. Hell the devs could even add an in-world leaderboard and give each party (that opts in) a score based on how cleanly or fast they cleared a given fight.

Potentially. But then the ToS would still apply regardless, so those that would use it as an outlet to be an even worse individual certainly wouldn't be around long.

Anything that would occur as a result of parsing being made official already does happen courtesy of third-party parsing. The only difference is that if they were to do it in-house and native to the game then they themselves would be able to moderate it, and it would give a basis for console players, and players that don't engage in third-party utilities to know how they are doing.

I'm being hyperbolic but I think most people wouldn't be cruel to someone just for underperforming in terms of DPS. You tend to get a more toxic attitude when someone constantly fucks up the same mech in a reclear party and then is shitty when called out on it.
