Some will say that you don't need a parser to have this type of player and it's true but you can't report those people easly so...
It's far easier to report a non-parsing individual for being a twat than a person who is parsing, if you're insinuating that it's the opposite. A lot of people who parse rarely make it known they're doing so unless they're in a static setting where people won't go off the deep end and report them. There was literally an individual going around reporting PFs that mentioned "parse runs" of Omega Savage on Aether for a while. How vindictive do you have to be to report "parse runs", especially if you have zero ambitions to actually join in on the PF?

This thread alone has shown that anti-parser individuals can be just as "cancerous" as people who parse. How many have demanded that any and all who parse be banned on the spot? My personal favorite was the individual who called us all "parsetards". But they weren't being toxic or anything.....

As for the parser in itself, i don't give a damn. Anyone can use it for all i care but the thing is the discrimination that almost always goes with it. And this is the reason i don't want one, it's bad enough as it is.

Discrimination comes with everything; it's not exclusive to parsing. To blame the tool for people using it to be a twat is wrong.

A good example is Party Finder: I can make a ShinEx farm stating "Miqo'te only" or "ilvl 340 only" and that's effectively discriminating and excluding any and all who aren't either Miqo'te or ilvl 340. Should we get rid of Party Finder because of the "discrimination potential" it has? No. You don't blame the tool for the actions of an individual.

Whether you realize it or not, you're discriminating against parser users by insinuating that people who parse automatically discriminate. Also, your claims of parser discrimination are purely anecdotal, unless you have quantitative evidence in the form of research and numbers to back it up. Anecdote does not constitute fact.

You can say that parser discrimination is bad as much as you want. I can counter with "how so because I've only seen one instance of harassment via parser in my two years of playing". They're both anecdotes and they prove nothing.

Well for mnk if you read what tornado kick does and greased lighting stacks are gone after use, I didn't need a paser to come to the conclusion when it's best time to use it. I knew I wasted more time building my gl back up unless pb is up but still don't waste pb on tk it would be a net lost on dps and only really use tk for when boss is about to be unable to hit for a long period or when its about to die. /Shurg I wouldn't mind a personnel paser though but something by just reading skills would also benefit as well.

Ofc you don't but you have to use a parser to know: Why did my dps increase in this fight? If not, why did I do less? Was it less critt? bad rotation? Bad hold cds etc? Good popping cds etc? If you do a fight and lets say you don't run a parser, someone ask if you did good dps and you are like hey, I did more crit so I did more, but in reality you might done less because of error of rotations.

And I will agree with some people here, a parser being official on this game, won't make players better, but at least it will give them awarness that they aren't as good as they thought they did. Some people will react posetive to it, by seing those ''numbers'' and data and see what they are doing wrong or better than others. I can honestly not count how many times I've went on FFlogs to check other BLM's rotations to help my friends rotation. There are times I've done 9 min v1s fights with pugs and only seen NIN do 3 trick attack instead of 8 -9. The parser gives you info on that too and many ignore that because they all think we say ''blabla numbers'' It's not the case really, parser is much more than just numbers.

Keep in mind, those people who say parser will be a huge toxic fest if it ever happens, well ever looked how currently players are? There are far more toxic players without one. In fact there are even people who calls people bad yet they are the worse ones.

Honestly for me once I got the fight pattern down I know what to expect from the fight that usually when I know I've gotten better at the fight because gl is up allot more often and I'll know when I can weave in my cool downs at certain points in the fight by bosses hp%/mechanics all without the paser would I like to see my result sure why not.

I know people want to maximize their dps why I'm for personnel parsers, but I don't expect others overly worry to much on maximize, I much more like them to have more in the mid to were can dodge and have a decent roatation doesn't need to be perfect but not retarded aither.

I can understand what you are saying, but at the same time, if everyone had a mentality of doing ''decent rotation'' put those players in the same group and the boss wont die. It's how it works with pugs, you can put 3 very good players while 1 being 1k to 1.5k behind the rest and still clear it, but you put that 1 guy with the same dps in another group, it wont ring the same bell.

I can understand that but going from a poor player to straight up pro isn't going to happen over night being this a casual content game, their has to be a middle ground were people that want too can work up to a pro dps parser wont fix everything but can be a good tool. The game core in teaching isn't helping it's also flawed as people have mention I find the difficult curve to this game is from easy to hard imo their need to be a mid core content to maybe nudge people into doing better but meh their many problem to the issue.

You read only half of it, as said before i never said they ALL do discrimation using a parser. Just saying that a lot do. And i'm against encouraging that. I don't need exemple. It would be pointless, if you ask for exemple, next you can also say they're made up. Lastly i wouldn't talk about it if only seen once, if that were the case i would only have thought that the person was an idiot and whatever.

People discriminate on item level all the time in Party Finder, which is a less accurate way to accomplish the same thing: making sure you have enough DPS to beat the enrage. I always chuckle when I see a minimum 330 Lakshmi.
