I'm VERY finicky. My friends joke that I can't go more than a day without a trip to the aesthetician ( they're completely right.)
Would be nice to see some other picky people here to comfort me. :')

I'm the same, I will spend HOURS at the creation screen. And then after a bit will buy those potions and remake it cause a color is off or something. I'm NEVER happy for a long time. It also helps my excuse as I'm a comic artist so my thoughts on design change a bit from time to time.
I am also very picky, can take me hours in character creation playing with options to get my character just right. Then in game I change my hair a lot and have used my share of Fantasia.
If there is character creation involved, it's generally a good bet that I will spend a number of hours on it before I find what I like, followed by fine tuning via test runs (since character recustomization can get costly). In this game, I tend to change hair styles and colours often.
I think I'm comfortable with my current hairstyle and hair color. Before when I'm a male highlander it's hard to find best hairstyle and hair color lol.
I spend a lot of time in character creation and at the aesthetician. Even have lots of characters saved for when i change races.
Agree on this. Male highlanders really have very few options for hair etc that look good on them. And dont get me started on the eyebrow issue as well...........
Oh gosh. Eyebrows. I've actually found myself not playing certain races because their eyebrow options are trash LMAO.
I was in a hurry to get started so I took 5 mins in the character creator when making my Duskwight Elezen, literally everyone else I know that plays spent at least 30+ minutes, I was also the only person in my group of friends and family that never touched any of their fantasias until quite recently.
I won't lie, I loved my derp Elezen man, he really grew on me as I played, I mostly settled on a static look and only went to the aesthetician to see new hairstyles. I thought about using my fantasia to change his height or to change some slight facial features, but it wasn't necessary.
That said, I recently changed to a Lalafell, for a change of pace and to wind up a friend, I spent a good 20+ minutes on my potato and I am happy with the result. Dunno if I will change back anytime soon.
It took me a couple of hours to fine tune my Fem Roe so her nose wouldn't look like a block of wood like so many of them do. My Lala it took about an hour. I spent more time on the contours of my characters to give them a unique appearance other than hairstyle and eye color.
i had spent almost 2 hours in total on my first character an hour on the 2nd one and a hour and half on my current one.
