Mok Oogl Island issues

So here is the thing:
Fisher lvl 59
Gathering 442
Perception 354
Gulleye level: 4
Skyfishing: Yes
Cloudfishing: yes
Hellfishing: Yes
Aetherfishing: Yes
Last Question Completed: One Man's Fish is Another Man's Poison
Bait Equiped: Red Balloon
Location: Mok Oogl Island lvl 56

Problem: No matter what I do how I do it or where on the island i do it it will not let me fish at Mok Oogl Island. All it keeps saying is "You can sense something swimming below, but are uncertain where."

Question: Is there something special about this spot i need to know about to fish here or is there just some bug that is preventing me from fishing.

Have you tried Fish Eyes, or whatever the skill is called that costs something like 400GP & says it can reveal hidden stuff?

Yes I have tried that and it still gives me the same message.

I believe you get that message when it's one of the unspoiled finishing spots. They can only be fished in a tiny window of time. Or it could be a legendary fishing spot in which the unspoiled rules apply but you also have to buy the book (from blue scrips.)

This is odd, I'm pretty sure I've fished there so it isn't a legendary fishing spot. However, I'm level 60 and in the Chimerical set with a birch fishing rod, sounds like it's down to your stats or maybe your level.

Side question: Somebody mentioned 'Fish Eyes' has anyone got anything from using this skill?

Well, the unspoiled spots don't require the book but they do have that time limit thing going for them.

Most 60 from fishing folklore book can only be fished with fish eyes
I have everything for azys la fish...

Welp, thanks for reminding me. T.T I have 55 blue scrips thingies... only need like 250 more. /sigh THANK GAWD for the other gather classes. It makes things like that slightly easier.

By the OP's description, it sounds like a Gulleye issue. While I don't know what level Gulleye is required to fish at Mok Oogl, Gulleye V is obtained at level 60. Ding 60 without doing anything else, and I'll bet you're able to fish there.

This would not be the first time that a Gulleye is required that is higher than the actual level of the fishing hole.
