Kicking Party Members In Dungeon

I was doing a leveling roulette in Brayflox and our healer was afk at the beginning. You can't kick until 5 minutes into the dungeon so we had to wait 3-4 minutes before he decided he was ready.

Later he goes afk, again without warning, right in front of the salamander boss. We manage to beat it without him and we go to kick him because he still isn't around at the end of the fight and we're not allowed to because an item dropped from the boss and you can't kick when an item roulette is happening.

Which will have to time out because he's afk.

And then he disconnected and we still couldn't kick him.

I think the wait should be like 2 or 3 minutes to kick from the start of the match, and if someone goes offline nothing should stop them from being kicked immediately. I would have had to wait 5 minutes for the item to time out before we could kick him, so I left out of frustration. This is just silly.

Shame on you. Your time isn't as valuable as that healer's was. How dare you expect him to be ready-to-go for that dungeon he so selflessly queued up just to make sure some DPS are able to do dungeons at all. /endsarcasm

The game prevents kicks when loot is being rolled on so that trolls can't kick people out to deny them of their loot. Sadly, other kinds of trolls use that same mechanic to prevent being kicked, so it's a catch-22.

As far as the loot pool's kick lock goes, that is a must. Without it, jerks can form 4/8 parties and then kick the strangers once loot drops. The problem is definitely not the kick lock. We do need much shorter loot timers, though--60 seconds is more than enough time for someone to decide if he wants a particular drop, to use the Item Comparison feature, or to empty out a few inventory slots.

Since you only have 2 posts I am assuming you are new to the forums so I am gonna let you know SE doesn't allow name shaming and they could ban you for it. So just a friendly suggestion to edit the character names out of that image or remove it because it would suck if they decided to ban you over it.

But yeah those situations really suck when people like to AFK at beginning of the run because they know they can't be kicked yet. It's very annoying. I understand why you can't kick during loot rolls but...the no kicking for 5 minutes at beginning of dungeons I kinda don't understand. Really the only reason you would need to kick someone that soon would be an AFK or Offline player so why block it I wonder?

I disagree with that the disconnected players should be able to get kicked anytime. What about people who have been disconnected for real, and desiring to comeback and continue?

It's kinda hard to re-login back to the game for some reason. In other MMOs, logging in while your character is still in the game, will kick your character out and let you login. FFXIV will let the character take higher priority instead of the actual human who's trying to login. It's dumb.

Suggestion, if you have a partymember you want to kick you can allways kick them after the 5 minutes are over if you have no faith in them. And instead of struggling through the bossfight i would have rather wiped and kicked them before tackling the boss.

A while ago i had someone go offline for more then 5 minutes, i tried a votekick that failed. After that i checked them and yes all three of them where french. While I allways have only english selected.As soon as the missing person got back i got a votekick against myself. Thank god i was rid of these a'holes. All the time not a word was typed by any of them.
