You are absolutely right. Supply is far too limited, and increasing the number of houses to meet demand is the key to the entire problem. Hopefully the new wards and apartments that are going to be introduced will address this issue.

As to rent, taxes? Please, don't introduce either. I play games to get away from all that.

The 45 day period is already too short; if you are paying a sub, I don't see why you should lose your house, regardless of how active you are. Yes, people get bored and take a break (though why shouldn't they?).
Other reasons for not playing are beyond anyone's control, your job might take you away from home for a few months, you could have an accident, get sick or your family might need you. Nobody should be punished for being having to deal with a real life crisis.

This proposal would not only cut down the time you are allowed to be away from the game even more, it would also demand constant activity 'just to pay the rent'. No thank you!
