    RENT: A Better Housing Solution

I know, I know, "I paid a kajillion gil for this place, I don't wanna pay more for it!"

Don't worry, the plan for this wouldn't be to gouge anyone out of way more money than necessary. This is more an activity thing, better than the current 45-day login policy because it actually requires a homeowner to actually do something in-game beyond just logging in. Think of it like a subscription fee for your house, except better because it requires gil instead of your credit card (damn right I'm looking at those extra retainers)!

The rate would be simple: 0.1% of the cost of the property every two weeks. If that sounds cheap, that's because it's supposed to be. If you paid some chunk of gil for a piece of land--let's say 10 million--then the rent on that is only 10k, which can be made without even thinking about it. One or two roulettes or a couple of beast tribe dailies that day and voila, easily enough to cover the rent and maybe some extra for dyes or glamour crystals or anything that burns off that sweet, sweet pocket change!

"But that means I have to log in every other week instead of getting to wait a month an a half so I can keep my house!" You know what Mr. Whiny-pants? If you're not playing this game, then maybe you shouldn't waste our pixels. Ever been on a server with too much vacant property? Me neither, mostly because I have friends that aren't on dead servers, but that's beside the point. We want houses, not some monuments to players that have long since stopped caring about the game, hence why the better solution to housing is rent.

"But I won't have a home to come back to after taking a break for X months/years!" Don't fret, because anyone with housing permissions to pay it off can do so to keep your house just the way you left it so long ago....or they can completely trash the place because WHO CARES, YOU'RE NOT PLAYING ANYWAY! The overall objective of this plan is to ensure that housing property is owned by people still paying their subscription and possibly enjoying the game too.

What's the downside? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except for anything brought up by Mr. Whiny-Pants, but no one likes him anyway....
