RENT: A Better Housing Solution

Personally, I'd rather they scrap the whole system the way it is and go to fully instanced housing like many other MMOs. That way, everyone can have one because if you (or anyone else) isn't in the house, it's in a rest state and not loaded into memory thus not eating resources. Then a rental system would be fine, if after I don't pay one month, my house is just perma locked until I pay for it again.

See, when you don't have a house you're like all these restraints are good so ppl fk up and I can get one soon. Then when you do get one, you'd be like wtf I have to water my garden more frequently than my real life plants. All this does is reduce the log in time from 45 days to two weeks, its already really shitty at 45, it should be like 6 months before they can take your hard earned stuff and throw away all your unrecoverable furniture you've spent millions on and countless hours decorating.

I own a house and I could care less if they decided that I needed to enter it once every 2 weeks, usually less about people wanting to take a break more about they don't want to pay the sub.
