my thoughts exactly i slaved my butt off gettin enough money to buy my small house.. why should i have to pay rent on an house i already brought?? its really easy to make gil if you want to these days compared to previously.. they should save up n camp housing plots like the people who buy n sell do ._.

You can make 9k gil just by running leveling roulette as the role "in need" and there's a ton of gil in the challenge log.

It's not hard to get gil even if all you play is battle classes.

So basically a worse system than we have now, that we have to pay for, with no benefits? Sure, why not?

I like the idea but maybe change gil to "housing tokens".

You buy your house, and you get your fortnightly token from a vendor (at no charge. They provide you with a free token because Ul'dah/Limsa/Gridania thought it suitable for the Warrior of Light). You then trade that token to another vendor as payment and secure the house.

This way it doesn't cost anything, people can't complain and they're still activating their house very two weeks.

they could just remove it...have it like it originally was with no loss of housing, but you can't always get what you want.

at this point i would rather be required to play once every 45 days in my house then have to pay extra cash.

(that or pay 10$ real money to keep it forever and piss everyone off with more cash grabs)

Well, If you ignore Insurance, Land Tax and Maintenence.

But this isn't the real world. This is the Fantasy world, and people were against Housing Rent before the system was even released.
They have made a lot of mistakes with housing, Rent would just add to the list ><
