Thread: I was sick of tomes in 2.0 now I loathe them in 3.0

I could've gotten my lore pants before the reset. I think I got up to 200 tomes before I lost all motivation to do another expert roulette or dungeon. I'm starting to become disgusted by the tome system. Two dungeons that drop ilvl195 gear that leads to ilvl230 gear? Why is it still like this? Is it catch up content? What am I catching up to? Nothing is hard in the game aside from savage, and thats just a dance number of dodging and doing mechanics. Savage as a whole is just pointless content to me. I already know how the story ends.

Tomes feel like a job instead of a game. I feel like I have to hit a deadline and if I don't hit it, I'll fall behind. It was somewhat okay when the patch first came out. But then weeks go by, then months, and I'm still doing the same two dungeons, only to be replaced by two more dungeons. I don't feel good about myself when i get a new piece of armor. I didn't really do anything. Heres to hoping the new Palace of the Dead content will be new and exciting. Because Tomes have killed the game for me.

my main issue is that due to lack of time i can only cap using experts.....BORING EXPERTS i must say .... if savage droped 100 tomes each turn

I don't mind it - In my days, I was running just UBRS over and over for some stupid chestpiece. Last month, I was running WoD 55 effin' times just for a glamour chest as well. Compared to drop based gear grinds, the tome system is a blessing.

I'd kinda like lockouts to carry over up to the total cap of 2000 - it's not like you could gain an advantage since you'd still only be able to get as much as anyone else, but there'd be less perceived pressure per week. As it is, I just sometimes don't cap and other times overcap several times over.

Geared one class. Stopped capping lores aswell. Running same dungeon every day gets borring after awhile when they're faceroll keyboard difficulty.

I am too, I've been sick of it. I refuse to do roulette...I only do hunts. I think it is a very boring way to obtain gear. :/

Nothing force people to cap lore
You can run most non end game with only eso stuff
SE kindly gave us crafted gear which is strong alternative
(Some will say : "ewww but it's pricy" well you shouldn't have sulk your Crafter)

I'm mostly crafted on my favorite class and beating/catching up with more people
And i'm sitting at 1700ish lore tome... Not knowing what i could do with them XD (and this week cap is at 0 atm)

It's not about being forced..no one forces anyone to log in the game either, or do anything. The OP is saying it is boring and wanting an alternative and motivation. The solution is just "dont do it" if they dont like tomes? Instead of SE stopping the tomes stuff that plenty of people have expressed a disdain for and putting in a more enjoyable system? o.O The fact that the dev from the latest live letter (The level 5 fellow) said basically the same thing really says a lot...
