No, SE wants money. Yoshi-P has a vision... he's getting paid either way. You could compare his work to an artist's as he is trying to craft with the help of his team, something really special. To him it is not only about trying to make more money, as that money will got to SE not in his pocket. You can tell from his letters, interviews etc that he holds this project at heart, especially being a hardcore mmo player himself, he wants this to be the best possible and not for the money but for the accomplishment of doing so. As he said before, he wants this to be the FFVII of mmos.

SE doesn't need our encouragement or praises. Yoshi-P and his team on the other could use it. Just to give them a reminder that we are supportive of their hard work and that we will be there along the way to give them all the feedback and suggestion needed to make this a solid game. Given the work that has been done, and the constant communication (where previously, for years as well if you count FFXI there was next to no communication) given by Yoshi-P. And this goes far and beyond Blizzard's level of communication. Blizzard shows off features, nods and impliments things that they like out of the sea of people shouting at them for this that and the other thing.

Yoshi-P? He gives progress reports with every producer letter. Every one of them is both an insight into the development team as well as a progress bar as to what's happening when and why. This is on top of listening to feedback and incorporating such into the development process. On top of jumping at opportunities to clarify miscommunication.

The guy is single-handedly trying to lead SE's general development process in a new direction by example. And considering the size and traditions of the company, that's a monumental task.

That alone deserves respect, praise and support, continually, if for no other reason that SE should have not a single reason to believe that the policies Yoshi P is trying to get the company at large to adapt is flawed in any way. We don't want SE to go back to the way it was before this guy showed up and was given the reigns. Ever. IMO he's the best thing that's happened to the company since before the Enix merge and the company heads should be sitting at his feet taking notes on how to run their company.

Because if he pulls off the recovery we're hoping for in 2.0, he will have redeemed Square Enix, and put a bit of hope that Final Fantasy can still have a bit of the magic we loved so much as children.

You can be angry all you want at the company, but back this guy up. He's the turning point we've been looking for.

As paying customers, it is not our responsibility to provide moral support to those providing the product. They already receive our money. They can use that money to receive moral support as they see fit.

That's because of that kind of mentality having a nice society is difficulty. We are talking about the persons developing the game, not the company in its entity as a company.

The developers are persons and we are supporting them.
