Last boss of the Weeping City of Mhach?

JP Dev blog updated with some preview screenshots. Either that's just a pastel-colored egg the real boss is going to hatch from, or up next we get to fight Ozma. Whatever they do with it, I don't think anyone was expecting that to show up in another game.

Why not? They said a long time ago that much content that will be added to FFXIV would be meant to reprise fan favorites of previous FF titles.

I've been asking for it for a while, but well... It's a FFIX superboss, of course I asked for it... It just appears to be some Mhach... thing... rather than a failed summoning of everyones favorite moon-prison...

Wonder how it'll fit into the lore here... Is it a Voidsent? Just a cloud of Void-energy? Given it seems to be at the top of a pyramid full of Void Batteries...

Not to sure it's the final boss though... I mean, the Live Letter clip for the Weeping City had a cutscene of someone/thing descending... Have we ever had a cutscene for a mid-boss? OK yeah, watching the Live Letter clip again, it would seem Ozma is the 3rd boss, there is a pyramid on top of the pyramid where we fight Ozma, would seem we go into a smaller one after to fight Queenie?

Interesting. I'm a big fan of FFIX. FFXII is my favourite overall with FFVII sharing the second spot along with FFIX.

Ozma seems like something that would benefit from a 'Minstrel's Ballad' type fight though.

Im not entirely sure if having this boss in a 24 man raid was a good call. It doesn't seem like its really going to do him justice as 24 mans are generally on the easier side of things.

I can see where you're coming from with the 'Minstrel's Ballad' type thing, there isn't anything stopping them from doing that in the future. Me and a few friends were discussing Ozma's appearance in the 24 man raid and we came to the conclusion that it would be take 24 players to defeat him :P

To be fair - we'd be pummeling a tough 4-man boss with 24 people. It's kinda bound to be easier that way.
