Hit 50 yesterday, how best to get into PvP?

Hit 50 and 51 yesterday, did some optional dungeons I had missed 1-49 and caught up a bit on the main story, and was thinking of hoping into PvP today. I haven't tried it yet in this game but wanted to give it a go. But I've heard that 1.) using DF as a noob to PvP is stressful/likely to get you lots of flack from experienced PvPers and 2.) PvP is all about lvl60/the feast now and no one queues for Den or Frontlines.

    Your thoughts/recommendations?

Frankly put, you're not getting into ANY PvP until you hit 60. Mostly because the 50s stuff offers no useful rewards, and as such, nobody wants to do it. You "might" get lucky, and get Secure/Slaughter after a 3 hour wait, but that's being very optimistic.

And as for the PvP community, in Frontlines, you're going to see rage, mostly because people run off and die on their own. In Feast, you only see the rage in the Ranked mode. Nobody cares about 8v8. You could lose all day, every day, and be fine, because it doesn't affect any amount of rating. It's the mode we go to when we need a break from 4v4 rage. You'll constantly see a mix of unranked through Platinum players in there, having fun, because we just needed to blow off steam in the mode for giggles.

Hmm, oh well. When I read a guide after liking the free trial it said PvP at level 30, but when I got to level 30 I found out that had changed. Level 50 was the new target, but no one does that stuff now. OK then, hopefully it's still level 60 when I get there

If your level 50 and want to start PVPing, you probably could attempt to queue into Frontlines and maybe luck into a Secure match or two. Other then that I think you are out of luck until you hit 60.

Level 30 is when the first pvp is available , but the only thing the df tends to pop for these days is feast at 60. There is no reward or pve xp in pre 50 match ups so incentive is completely absent for 90% of the player base. When they were played 30 and 40 wolves den were a fun but pointless distractions. I would love to see a return of low level pvp popularity , but max level can't even keep its popularity for a decent length of time. Exploitation is everywhere , and unfortunately if they tried to make low level more playable it would most likely lead to more bodies filling space rather than playing. This being said 8v8 at level 60 is super fun except the odd jerk you run into, however these people are pretty easy to shrug off. The 4v4 is a whole lot more serious , and i suggest taking care with your feelings if you decide to play this mode. Hope to see you in the fray! ^^

There was PvP from level 30 - 50, but the problem was that, as the majority of the player base reached level cap, the PvP at the lower levels died. Aside from what Elfdan already mentioned (lack of incentives), there is also the problem of working under a level limitation. No one wants to queue up into a game mode where they didn't have all of their skills available, especially since most of us have our hotbars customized for max level content. SE doesn't let us store our PvP hotbars separately, so we'd have to re-organize them each time if we wanted to run PvP content at 30 or 50.

That said, level 50 PvP did survive for quite a while, because most of the seasoned PvP'ers preferred the Secure game mode over Seize. It is still possible to get into level 50 matches. I still got into my fair share of Secure before Feast came out. It's just highly unlikely. If you still want to try, my best suggestion is to queue up for all of the available level 50 content while you're doing other things (such as crafting, gathering, sightseeing, Fates, etc). You might get lucky with a queue. Otherwise, power level your way up to 60. They don't raise the level caps between expansions, so Feast and the upcoming "Shatter" game modes should still be active until the next expansion comes out.

When you hit 60, please for the love of all good do not then enter into ranked level 60 PvP (feast) with i120 Poe gear and i150 NQ white gear.
