The Yo-Kai Watch items being given to players for "free" by doing certain quests for a limited time....or them being sold on the MogStation for 3/5/24 dollars (respective price for the weapons, minions and mount) with no such ingame event?

I'd rather the event but we all know they are going to be put back up at some point on mogshop.
I should elaborate. I was asking of people would prefer the event of just the items being Cash-Shop exclusive. I;m aware of the mostly-inevitable possibility of the items being in MogStation after a year or so
Collab events are fun. Plus with all the people on the forums asking for Lightning's hair they did release the XIII items eventually on the Mog Station. After the event was released 3 times.
Why would and should ANYONE prefer that those items go directly into the cash shop? No, thank you, we're already paying for this game...
Either suits me just fine as I don't plan on getting any of them anyway.
Then as Vidu said, we pay for the game and should receive it all for free. The fact we keep complaining about storage space but they keep throwing new glamour items at us. With this new event coming and no where to really store it unless we can put them in the Armoire but I am gonna guess not.
The items are seasonal, like all items that are seasonal they will and should be able to be placed in the Armory. Not to mention that Toshi P. Stated that it will not be possible to collect all the weapons from this event. Then as Vidu said, we pay for the game and should receive it all for free. They didn't say it was it was not possible. Just that it would be "tough". And if it's not impossible, you know that there's gonna be folks that will do it. XD
As for the topic at hand, putting the items directly in the mog store would pretty much kill the whole point of doing a cross-promotion. SE needs to get the referenced property right in everyone's faces so they know they exist. For a large portion of the FFXIV community who don't frequent the forums, they're likely barely aware that the Mogstation Store even exists. If they're going to cross-promote Yokai Watch, in-game is the way to do it.You'll be able to earn all of the minions somewhat easily, but the weapons will be tough to get.
Yoshida: We wanted to make it so people could get as many of the weapons as possible, but Hino had some thoughts on this.
Hino: We wanted to make it so you have to put some thought into which weapon you want to aim for.
That said, it's my personal opinion that this cross-promotion isn't appropriate. While I'm sure the game has lots of cross-demographic appeal, really Yokai Watch is a game aimed at kids, while FFXIV is intended for young adult and older. I'd rather see promotions with other games intended for an older age group.
