Why hasn't this been done yet? That garb would be so beautiful, and could you imagine it if they made it male and female?

Well, given the fact that the HD re-release of FFX and it's sequel came and went without a crossover event in FFXIV, if they ever do add Yuna's outfit it would almost definitely be a possible future Veteran's Reward, as we already have Cloud's Advent Children costume and Firion's Yoshitaka Amano-inspired outfit from the FFII artwork, so there is definitely precedent there.
And Zidane's outfit! (want, but have so far to go....).Well, given the fact that the HD re-release of FFX and it's sequel came and went without a crossover event in FFXIV, if they ever do add Yuna's outfit it would almost definitely be a possible future Veteran's Reward, as we already have Cloud's Advent Children costume and Firion's Yoshitaka Amano-inspired outfit from the FFII artwork, so there is definitely precedent there.
As for the Yuna outfit, I kinda... don't want it... not because I don't want it, but because the developers will almost certainly make it female exclusive with no male alternative, it's been done before and seems to be the norm for XIV glamour, and I'd rather not encourage it.
As for making male/female variants in general, I don't think it would be possible without creating an entirely new male outfit "inspired" by the Yuna outfit, I'm not saying that men can't wear the outfits of female characters from final fantasy, I'm saying that they can't wear Yuna's outfit (they could however wear FFXIII-2 lightning outfit, Faris's amano outfit, dagger's outfit (princess garnet) etc.).
If we could get different M/F outfits in veteran rewards then great, but I feel like that would be a lot of work for a veteran reward, and thus far they have made them unisex.
Why not just take something that was already in the game for male/female characters, like the Ronso outfits?
I can see the Yuna thing possibly being added to the cash shop, since it kiiiind of hugely sucks in game when stuff is one gender only.
Yuna outfit... is a must, add Tidus outfit, thier weapons, a mount or a minion 'I pushing it here I know' and you got yourself an event lol
yuna outfit for males would be.. weird unless they remodel it
Princess Garnet aka Dagger must have an outfit since there is one for Zidane 'The process of getting it is 'ridiculous'... My opnion'
Anything for Lightning MUST be in any FF game, again my opinion lol
There won't be an event, there was a time that there could have been (X/X-2 remasters), but that ship has sailed...
I agree that I would like a unisex garnet outfit, but the zidane outfit is not "ridiculous" to get, it's a veteran reward, you literally just need to keep playing the game and one day it will magically appear in your mailbox. Can't wait? cool, you can buy the game time in advance (at a discounted rate) and get it immediately.
the lightning outfit and sword are already on the mogstation, albeit genderlocked.
During the PAX East panel, Yoshi P said that there are several events planned to celebrate past Final Fantasy games, like the Lightning Returns event. They never said when they were coming but there is still hope for those items. >w>
Really? I completely missed that. We will see, though I still don't hold out much hope, as it will likely be focusing on the earlier FF games than the later ones.
The only reason I hold any hope of X being represented is because of the remasters and that it could be easier to rip stuff out of that and edited for this game versus created entirely new pieces for older FFs, like they did with the XIII stuff.
For males, there are other summoner outfits to choose from.
Braska, Seymour and Isaaru come to mind.
