/thavdanceOr race-specific styles overall even? Sure. Mechanics aside, I think if you see a Roe dancing like a ballerina ("IMA BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY RAAAAWRG!"), people might not take the class seriously enough. Perhaps you'd see a resurgence in "Less gender-locked clothing please!" type threads (not saying that's wrong, but you get the idea) as well.. Dancer has typically been a damage class like bard. It would not work as a full buff class like Songstress in X-2.
EDIT: did just read about it being almost a full buff class in FFV O_O. No one would like it if they could not do damage XD.
I support this idea...Make it happen ! please...
I definitely see DNC being more successful as a melee support, which the game doesn't really have right now. I think FFXI got DNC's ideal image perfect, but at the same time, we already have a dagger class, so I'm kind of at a loss there. Maybe it could be the first class to show that we don't need 1 job per weapon, and better yet, maybe it could branch off of Rogue. That said, fans could work I guess.
As for being a healer... again, I don't know. DNC has really only been a healer in XI and even then it was extremely limited to the point that it really wasn't a true healer. Yoshida has stated that XI got things wrong in a lot of places, like when he said NIN was a DPS and SAM was a tank back before NIN ever came out. (Before anyone asks for proof, I *think* it was in an old gamerescape interview, but it's been a long time.)
I have an issue with this. I do not believe that a resurrection should grant allure. Aside from that, I love the looks of this and hope it gets implemented this way.Danse Macabre: Spell. Revives a fallen target in a weakened state (Note: can be used in-combat by default, without the need for a trait.). Increases Allure by 50. Instant cast time. 15 second recast.
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
Fun thing about dancer is that it's in that realm of jobs that could potentially be designed to fit any role. We have a healer here, a DPS in the other thread, and even I have my tank concept for it. Sure, some person could state their claim that it should be like this or it's meant to fit that role because it was like that in some past Final Fantasy game, but it's important to know that that sort of logic prevents the type of creativity we see in these threads.
Back to this particular example of dancer, I like it. The allure/charisma system seems a bit convoluted, but this does have a couple of utility tricks I'd love to see implemented in the game.
Interesting idea. I love the idea of dancer being a healer, but I'd like to see it be a healer along the lines of the rift chloromancer or wow's new disc priest. Healing by doing melee attacks. Would give ffxiv a new play style to add to the current classes.
