Convert FC House to Personal House

Hello,

At the launch of ARR 2.0, I started a Free Company and we were pretty active. I had about ~20 dedicated members that we would do coil with.

Since then, my free company has split up and consists of myself and my wife. We feel tied to our free company because we purchased our house and do not want to lose it. However, we would love to join another Free Company for all the social parts of an MMO.

I realise that I would have a secondary character hold the house in my stead, but this is a work around, not a solution.

Anyone else in the same boat? Agree with me!

Sorry, but I have to personally disagree with this idea. Although I can see your reason for it and have no problem with that, generally though I believe it would cause way too many problems. Right now we already see multiple times where an FC owner has kicked everyone out and taken over a FC (and there's probably more, this is just the ones that take the time to post online about). But it'd probably be even more attractive to the FC owner if they could convert it to a personal house and then join an FC of their choice, much like you want to.

I do think there should be a "convert" the other way round though (from personal to FC), but maybe instead of converting anythnig they should implement the "instant sale" option like others have requested before (to get the 80% now rather than wait 45 days). It's far from perfect and you'd still lose 20% of the value of the house (and the hassle of unbreakable items/having to put things back), but it'd be relatively safe to do so as unlikely someone could find/buy the house in the 30 seconds you'd be selling/rebuying.

Just relinquish it through neglect, get 80% of its value back. Repurchase it.
You'll know exactly when the house will be available so you'll have it in before any would-be land buyers.

Put it on an alt, make airship parts first, join a real FC and.. enjoy the airship perks bringing you back stuff to sell forever and ever? There's no level restriction to being the fc leader.

Or make a new free company out of it! Recruit new friends and faces?
