Ladies and gentlemen this is the first topic of funding requests for the purchase of one or two house(s) !


First : Where did i get that idea ?

I didn't mentioned it before because i couldn't reach the player that inspired me this. But now i did and she allowed me to speak about it. I wanted a minion : a cute blue butterfly. But prices were out of my league, near 800 000 ! I was able to get 500 000 by myself but i didn't had real succes in my sellings to get the missing part.

I was having fun showing my cosplay of the sadistic whyte mage Holly Whyte from the Bravely universe while speaking about the minion when a really generous player gave me the 300 000 i missed to buy it ! I was shocked ! Thanks to her i was able to buy my butterfly, so for a while i talked about her generous act and my actual player situation. It's when she said good luck to me for buying a land that my brain clicked : why not ask a helping hand from the world ?

I talked about it with her and she adored the idea ! Ding ! Some days later working on it i posted it !


So : why only 1 or 2 houses ? It's very simple.

Like many other players I consider that taxing a land for a ghost company full of alts is abuse.
Abuse which prevents other players to have access to this system, particularly for aircraft.
So that one player on all of his or her account(s) has only 2 slots is in my opinion more than enough.
One land for a personal home and another for a guild house.


Then : what is this topic ? I explain.

FF14 community is much more kind and generous than you can believe. Here you can post a request for help to raise funds to purchase a land on which you can either build your own house or a guild house.
Patrons can then contact you in the game to help you in your approach.
Be aware that the minimum possible that can be given is 10§ !


Finally : how ? By completing then posting the short list below.

Why do you search a land ? What do you want to build on it ? Any idea of decoration ?
Share a bit about yourself and your desires to make it more personnal and open to eveyone to read.

I'm not gonna erase the past, i have been too blunt when i opened this topic i admit.
But thanks to Super-Pucelle (FR topic), i'm gonna open myself and share with you my view, what i want for my guild.

I opened a french conglomerate accepting all styles of players possible. Whether beginners or experienced, students or workers or unemployed, i accept everyone and i take care of them. Education, counseling, i share with them my experiences and strategies.
We talk about everything as nothing, we are as quiet as intense, crazy as serious, everything is random in fact, without any judgment.

I look for a minimal M land size because i want to build something great with several floors (basement + ground floor + 1st floor) to set up different decorations and access to the aircraft. I do not want a simple house in which we put the craft workshops and that's it. No.
I want the land to be used for all kind of RPs or as a place for rest and relaxation : sit yourself in a beautiful setting and do nothing else.

It would be ideal to get a G size but a M size can be enough : i see a kitchen upstairs, a restaurant on the ground floor, a workshop in the basement, a mannequin in the garden which the guests could hit on for waiting. I see maids and a cook. Or a library, with a patio area upstairs with a day bed, bookshelves and sofas on the ground floor and the archives in the basement. Or even a spa ! The showers and bathroom in the basement, a bar upstairs, and a relaxation area with music on the ground floor.
I see lots of possibilities that couldn't be fully expressed in a size P.

Why do i do a fundraiser ? Most of my guildmates are students, hindering the monetary contribution to the fund of the guild. I work with it and do my way to make an income that contributes to the purchase of the land. But this is not enough, especially if we consider a limited period of time. The new sectors coming soon, i aim for a minimum a size M. And if it does not work or it's too late, well then i would have a capital base for upcoming sectors in another future update.

That's why i'm here, why i opened this topic, so people like me in the same situation, can have a chance to realize their dreams and to have access to more features in the game because we all have that right. I will not harass you, i will not beg you, i will not hunt you in game to beg, i'm just asking you a helping hand and you are free to answer as you like. Because you will not be alone, i am also here to work on this.

As much as I would love to test how generous people are, begging for gil doesn't feel right to me especially since the lack of gil I might have is partially due to putting in less effort/time...even if it is not the sole reason for the lack of gil. The biggest issue is you do not know where that donated gil comes from and it could come from someone who bought it off a gil seller which could lead SE to your door unknowingly and unintentionally that might end up getting you suspended or banned or something. That is something I would be concerned about personally which would also put me off asking for donation from strangers. There is also no houses available on my server anyways (no small, medium or large left last time I checked) so would be no point right now.

I agree with the previous post. Also are FC houses something the FC works for, puts effort into as a common goal. There are also multiple ways to raise money like crafting, gathering or killselling (what is a good income at least on my server but killselling is kind of a grey area, if you get screwed over there by a buyer it's your loss). Same with personal housing, it is something one either works on alone or (since you can have roomies now) in a small team. Also is a fundraiser usually something both sides benefit from (leaving out things like emergencies as raising money to cover operation costs for a beloved pet for example, you find these a lot online) and I don't see the benefit. Can you become roomie when it is a private house? Decide what to plant in the garden? Build and send out the airships to your own liking? [continued in next post]

As the previous post said, begging for gil doesn't feel right, at least in these huge sums. Even the (by now) well-geared and skilled crafters need their time to raise 30 million. If you want to raise money I'd recommend asking for help and tips to get started into gathering since that is the best method to raise gil without putting in too much yourself and once you have a certain amount maybe also start crafting.

I agree with the above posters. If your guild wants to purchase land, then as a guild, you should work toward that. Besides, I can see lots of people putting their name up just for free gil even if they have a home already. This seems to me about the equivalent of panhandling. It's not super hard to make gil in this game. You'd be surprised how much gil you make just doing some of the daily or weekly tasks.

I would agree with you on some points but honestly all i see here is points of view.

Yes this method can be risky. Like it has been said you can be a thief with a fake attempt and steal a lot, in that case i think that givers can search by themselves before giving funds, something they are solely responsible for. If thievery is discovered well it's too late that's true but they can also come and warn about people, all it takes is communication.

I don't agree about funds from a gil seller because if you succeeded to pass through SE net, well congratz but i don't really think that it exist and if it does i don't think that these "cheaters" will give anything at all. Too much risky for them too.
And if they do help : well let's suppose we talk about prescription on this money then ?

But the problem with the begging ? This is a topic to call upon the generosity within FF14 community players. Why ? Because everybody is different. Some suceeds and other don't. Guild also aren't all full of lvl 60 players with great ways and times to get plenty of money to give to the guild for a land. There is also guild for beginners and people with no luck that don't happen to get 1 million per day.

BUT they have the right to buy a land for themselves or their guild. Yes i said themselves because i would like to repeat that this topic IS NOT ONLY for guild lands but also for personal houses. AND maybe on some servers there is no free lands but it don't mean that would still like that for long. The 3.3 update should bring more opportunities but at this time it would be a time course. First who come is first who get. Some already have the amount for a land, other don't.

And that's about all these players i want to speak about : think of them instead of saying "it's easy". No it's not.
People are living even while playing. Like i said it's points of view and everybody is different.

Please try to think WITH ME to make this topic work with few problems
instead of only thinking AGAINST ME about the bad points of opening a topic like that.

It would be easy to get someone who puts their name up on such a list banned (in my opinion) by someone seeing the name and checking to see if they are online, heading off to some website and paying $2/$5 or whatever to a gil seller while giving your character name to send/transfer the gil as the receiver. They could then send SE a support message saying they suspect your character of buying gil to which SE 'might' suspend or ban you for it. It is possible they might not but there is a risk there that they might.

You could argue for example such a person to find out anyone's character name they dislike and do it to them regardless of putting your name on such a list, but if your begging/asking for gil on such a list you are far more likely to accept such large donations even from dubious sources while most people picked at random would not because they would realize something is not right about some random stranger handing them vast amounts of gil out of the blue. It is just my opinion but like I said I think there are risks to accepting donations from strangers which is all I was saying above before, I personally wouldn't want to take such a risk but if you do then that's up to you and I wish you luck with it but it is not my cup of tea and I explained why. It's your characters and your account not mine so do what you want with it.

I pointed out the problems with it from my perspective. I gave your idea some thought, I then gave you my opinion based on what you said. I think there is a risk to it plus wouldn't feel right to me if I was to do such. I am not forcing you to feel the same way. I also think gil is not the biggest issue, anyone can gain gil and save up for a house even if takes some people longer than others by different levels of effort or time put into it. The biggest problem is lack of plots in general as no matter if have (like I said in another thread) 1 gil or 1 billion...if there is no plots to buy then no amount will make any difference. On my server there is not and has not been any houses for sale of any size for a very long time now every time I have checked which is another reason why there would be no point in me asking for such donations.

It is just my personal preference and opinion, take it or leave it as you see fit. Maybe you would like people to figure out ways around your issues but I don't see why I should because begging/asking for others to pay for a house for me is something I would not do in the first place for a multitude of reasons. If you want to do so however then good for you, I have nothing against you doing it and I have no agenda to shoot down your idea. I merely said why I wouldn't personally do it myself. You on the other hand are free to do as you like and maybe you will get what you want or maybe not, it doesn't bother me one way or the other what you do with your characters. Consider my earlier comment just feedback on your idea and you do not have to agree with me and I am not having a go at you personally.

Here I would also suggest to rather help others to get started into gathering and crafting. If you have no way to make gil it is hard to use the house be it the gardenpatch or the airship because maintaining that also takes materials you need to craft/gather/buy.

Noone is entitled to own land. If we were we would simply get a port point or something similar from the Inn.
