    Quests hell

Hello, I'm new in the FFXIV and I liked this game, under level 50, now I suffer, why I should carry out an incredible amount of quests without getting a reward, why do I need 4800 experience and useless equipment that I'll never wear, I do not need a plot, I want to raid bosses and kill them, it's interesting.
I'm tired, quests there is no limit, I ask you, please, pass me quests to heavensward expansion and unlock the content, if it involves a chain, I'll unable to continue.

P.S. I apologise for my English, I'm a Russian player

The fact is that EVERY level 60 player at end game content has dedicated just as much time doing these main quests. Its part of the grind.

I sympathize. Like many aspects of the game, it would be nice if we had better options to please everyone more. We know, of course, that we ultimately can't please EVERYONE. But we could please more different types. The fact remains that many people very much enjoy the quests. They want more. They want even the side quests to be voiced. They do them regardless of reward. And others, like you, don't care. They do them because they're required to get to the content they really want. You have the option of skipping the cutscenes and clicking past the dialogue rapidly, but you can't entirely skip the quests.

Personally, I'd encourage you to actually stop and smell the linguistic roses of the quests. You might be surprised at how immersive and enjoyable they actually are. Practically, though, you can at least rest assured that the time involved to actually flip through the quests is actually tiny compared to the endless hours you can torture yourself on hardcore endgame content (for instance, there are people in the novice network that are in Heavensward but got there in less than the one week of playtime and still have beginner status).

I wish there was an alternative way to get to Ishgard without having to do the main quests.

The only reason for this is that I put most of my focus on crafting and gathering. (I only have one job that is not crafting / gathering. EDIT: I only have summoner and arcanist for cross-class abilities.) I wanted to go to Ishgard to get new gathering items to craft new things, but then I found out I needed to complete ARR main story first! I was so far behind and it took about 2 weeks to get there. I've been 60 for maybe 2 months now and I still haven't finished Heavensward main quests. (Just got what was needed to unlock all crafting / gathering stuff.)

Unfortunately, getting there is integrated into the main story.

Don't get me wrong, I love the story in this game and watch all the cutscenes and read everything. But I was super bummed out when I found out I couldn't get continue gathering and crafting until I completed the main quest.

As a crafter/gatherer myself and someone who has multiple characters so have gone through it more than once, the fact you have to go through the main story including dungeons, trials and such to get into HW zones and towns is a good thing in my opinion. The reason is simply because this gating of the expansion content aka new zones has meant there is literally no RMT town chat spammers or bot armies infesting them. You might come across a cheating player or two but RMT has been kept out pretty much due to them not being able to do all the quests, dungeons and trials for each bot. It's a shame when head back to ARR zones that the bot armies and RMT town chat spammers are still there but at least they are 'only' there and not in HW content/zones undermining us legitimate non-cheating gatherers or spamming our chat when visit HW towns.

I actually think it would be a shame to not continue all new content aka zones and areas from after unlocking Ishgard because no RMT spam/bot armies would infest those either if all new zones/towns were also gated behind the HW content/story unlocking. Things like new classes and such could be unlocked at the start of ARR but I would prefer all new zones/town hubs in future required having to have unlocked HW zones even if didn't complete HW storyline like all the way into 3.2/3.3 or 3.4 story completion to get into them. I think it is a bad idea to add new zones to ARR without having at least got into HW past the current gating because if not behind that gating too they will become infested with bot armies like ARR zones currently are and the new towns infested with RMT chat/shout bots. Any gathering done in those zones without that gating will be almost pointless because of the undermining of the value of the materials gained from them legitimately in competition with those bot armies.

I have to agree with Chiramu here - the Final Fantasy games have always been about story first and gameplay second, and the MMORPG titles like FFXIV are no exception (including tying content access to story completion). Besides, quests are specifically meant to be your primary way of gaining EXP, this is how you are meant to level your character, what Naoki Yoshida (FFXIV's producer and director) termed 'content based EXP' - basically, you have to learn to walk before you can run so to speak. It should also go without saying also that the story quests all explain exactly why you are going into the raid - it's not just a 'oh, it's a big scary cave so lets go kill stuff in there!' situation, each raid has an actual storyline behind it.

If you find that this is impeding your enjoyment of the game, then sadly I don't think FFXIV is for you, as storyline is the primary aspect of this game, more so than any other MMORPG probably, and SE will never change this.

they already said that 4.0 will not require any major story quest to be completed to access the new expanson, so clearly they realized the mistake they have made, story aside, this game can be played soley for the gameplay just as it can be played soley for the story, its an either or situation not a "if you hate the story, dont play it at all" type of thing, and i feel locking out heavensward zones beside the MSQ just didnt work. alot of people want to get to the max level ASAP to do endgame with friends that asked them to play..or other players playing an alt, etc etc.so SE did infact change this

I thought they only said it will not require the 3.0 Heavensward story completion.
