What's with people saying Yokai-Watch looks out of place?

There's literally nothing wrong with this crossover event a lot of the complaints I'm seeing here come from people who either don't know what it it is or people that say it looks out of place and doesn't fit.

For the 5 people who have actually played a FF that isn't XIV have you looked at the random enemies in Eorzea lately? they look pretty familiar don't they? Yes, let's complain about things looking out of place and not fitting when we have these guys running around in T4 and Azys La (spelling?)


Why these two enemies in particular? Because they're strongly ingrained in XIII's lore and are a pretty big deal in the datalogs they have no place in XIV's universe, the yokai watch stuff is harmless and is just for fun any complaints about lore and stuff not fitting should be thrown at the window because XIV obviously didn't care from day 1 when they blatantly recycle enemies from any FF game with walking animations to save on cost.

Maybe I'm biased because I love Yokai-watch but I think people really need to learn to have fun with crossover stuff, Phantasy Star Online 2 gets this stuff all the time with Sonic the Hedgehog and Hatsune Miku but no one on JP forums or English people get this salty over it. I hope it gets more people into Yokai Watch, criminally underrated in the west and it's mostly from Americans "not getting it"...hmm kinda reminds me why XIV localization team made some changes to XIV but I digress.

To add, I should also point out the Mammol Ja, Crocs with zipper faces, XII!Mimics (coincidentally also found in the same Allagan areas as your examples) and other stuff that are taken from either XI or XII.

At the same time I am looking forwards to the event as well but I think the reason is that in spite of stuff like the Hildibrand quests, people seem to compare this game and Heavensward in particular to Game of Thrones, and because of the the Target audience, Yo-Kai Watch is seen as a Kids Game/cartoon, something that seems like a far cry from Game of Thrones, even watered down. (plus I heard someone on reddit complain about textures)

People still need to chill when it comes to events, even XII, VII and XI had their lighter moments, hell, I'm sure that for all the death and sex and grimdark, even Game of Thrones still had their moments of humor.

It's an MMORPG. Some things are meant to look out of place after all. Fighting battles semi-naked? Airships with tiny wings? Jump unreal distances at unreal accelerations and speeds? and tons of others. Event and Collaboration items are always supposed to look a bit "alienish".

People still need to chill when it comes to events, even XII, VII and XI had their lighter moments, hell, I'm sure that for all the death and sex and grimdark, even Game of Thrones still had their moments of humor.

Most of those light moments were designed to be a part of the game, though. Sometime's they would even be a part of the main storyline (though often they wouldn't be, however would still be a part of the worlds lore). I feel that people find it jarring because it's not from a Final Fantasy game at all.

All that said, though, we'll see how the event is handled. If they treat it the same way they did with Dragon Quest X (99% FFXIV, 1% Yo-Kai Watch - mostly being the rewards), then I couldn't care less.

I do think it's silly, cause the haters saying it's out of place are just assuming and making up their own lore. I honestly see Yokai Watch as an entity that could possibly live anywhere and it's the watch that lets people see them. This means that if the watch were to exist in some form in the world of XIV then we would see those creatures. That's why I"m like, what is the big deal, I really think people complaining are pretty much implying that the world can only work one way and everything on Earth is illogical because it doesn't all look the same or follow the same logic.
