All this week, I've slowly grinded my way up to 900. I hit my gold qualifier last night, and then, like magic... started losing like crazy. Today, I'm down to low 600s. (I'm not even kidding -- won maybe one or two matches today.) Before that, my ratio was well above 60%.

I really should take people's advice and not try to do this on the weekend. Unfortunately, you get tossed in with a really mixed bag of participants. I found my best luck to be midday and primetime on weekdays... and by 'best luck', I mean getting paired up with and against people who are around my rank, so it's always a good fight regardless of a win or loss. It's really frustrating to be tossed in with unranked/bronze people who really aren't seasoned in PvP yet. (I've seen quite a few notoriously bad players in silver, though. How do they get there?)

All of that said, I agree with you 100% regarding attitude. Telling off a 'bad' player will get you nowhere. Offering help MIGHT get you somewhere. Still not a guarantee, but what does yelling at someone solve besides getting out your frustration? It's not like it's really going to help because it's not going to change the outcome. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people on my team rage at one another for a loss. Sometimes it's justified (in that the person really was at fault), but most of the time it isn't. I just really dislike when people don't take my advice and there's literally nothing I can do about it besides hope I don't get paired with them again. (And by advice, I mean like... follow the marks someone is dutifully placing, don't take too many medals, etc.)

Anyway, my rating's tanked today. I don't know if I should just wait until the weekday again or take further risks. Now I am understanding why people grind to 1k rating and sit there.
