I'd be a bit surprised if Shatter didn't incorporated any of the elements we encountered during the Grand Melee.

Since I got the coat and title, I don't have to worry as much about the Obsolescence. So I have a few speculations for How Shatter will turn out
The back-story will of course be Omega and GC-Related. The objective is to break apart more crystals then your two opponents (hence the title, shattered crystals). PKs will be justified by stealing some of their crystals after they died.
The Location could be Seal Rock like with Seize, or it could be a different location (Hoping for Cassiopeia Hollow) But a location The Black Shroud would be another possibility (Carteneau=Thanalan=Ul'Dah. Seal Rock=La Noscea=Limsa Lominsa).
The gear that will be Introuced would continue on the Twelve theme of the last set.
...jesus christ. You people and your endless whinning and complaining about how every element of pvp is so horribly bad and unbalanced. Seems you need every incentive in the world just to get off your *** and go stab someone. Its pathetic. Disgustingly so.
Not gonna name any names (one of you in particular) but every other word is 'No..not gonna work, waste of time' blah blah blah. No matter WHAT the devs release, Americans in general (idgaf,) act like condescending retards who just CAN'T be satisfied. Ish like this was the reason Ballista failed misrably on NA servers but flourished on JP ones. God forbid it just be for love of the game and artform...no, I need 4 Sephiroth glams, a Bahamut mount, and an hourlong bj from Tifa just to step out on the field, let alone do anything.
Half of you are bi***ing out here with regards to feast simply because you can't cut it. OoOOh..its just toooo random for meh! I r overpowahed but liek keep getting neewbie pts and just like..ermagawd dooood!~ The word 'solo' que is the f**** clue in itself. R A N D O M E L E M E N T...which is also why the devs origionally probably didnt wanna include rewards for lite party feast. A way of saying, who genuinely has the skill, REGARDLESS of the makeup to pull off wins. Who can change up their strat best on the fly with the tools at hand, even if theyre not the best (yes, complete noobs even). That adds a realistic elemet to Feast, one thats been misrably lost on some of you here. Oh ho ho ho..s*** was cakewalk back in Seal when it was ok for a brainless idiot to stand by a node all day, contributing absolutely nothing to a team, then quietly collect his/her reward at match end. With feast? Now youve got a fire under your backside and a gun to your head to do your job...because its MUCH easier to see whose slacking, has no clue. Where you HAVE to use skill..and even THEN its not enough. And whats happened? Exactly the same thing as wehn Titan HM was first released. Everyone and their mama wants to throw in the towel and get a 'new' mode. And whatll happen when that comes out? 200 more complaints from the EXACT same people who couldnt cut it to save their little sister's life in the other 3-4.
The traditional -stfu and git gud- moto is wasted. Just show some F**** appreciation and be glad the devs are willing to make any more attempt at all in view of your overwhelming thanklessness.
...no offense of course. /smile

^lol some1 has a bee in thier pants

that person is absolutely correct though, the casual community is really fkn cancer. I honestly like how hard and salty it is. It jus makes the win more satisfying and rewarding.
Kind of.
Whereas I totally agree that the vast majority of Feast related complaints I've seen on the forums are a baseless load of salty chips, the idea that incentives aren't needed for queues is laughable. This is an MMO. Worse yet, it's an MMO that was not built on a PvP foundation. The incentives that already exist to play the PvE content tremendously outweighs PvP, regardless of whether or not you find PvP more enjoyable. That's just a plain and simple a fact of reality. It goes without saying that queue times are harmed as a result. I don't think players who acknowledge this reality and are interested keeping PvP queues alive are "thankless" or somehow wrong to do so, especially when SE has already acknowledged that the system is not perfect and is reliant on player feedback.
Grand Company restriction isn't going anywhere...
Destroying the thing gained them 300 points I think... Seems fairly similar to Secure, just with the one outpost instead of three, two "shatter" points either side and one in the middle...

I'm guessing spawns will be random like Seize...

So, it's basically Secure 2.0. Well that's good news. I think a lot of people have been hoping for something like this, since Secure was so well liked among the community.
That said, the "shatter" aspect might be a little iffy. In Secure, node spawns often watered down the PvP aspects of the game mode, because everyone was suddenly doing a giant PvE styled Dps check. I hope that the "shatter points" don't run that same risk. We'll have to wait and see, though. The point weight between capture points and shatter points will ultimately decide where the player focus is.
And then there's this ...
Seriously, WHY?? GC restrictions have been the number one hated feature of Frontlines since the early days of Secure and are the biggest contributing cause of dead queue times. It is utterly mind numbing that SE is still insisting on keeping them around, even though there is literally no reason to do so. They wrote any logical lore reasons out of the game with the Before the Fall patch and cemented it in stone with the grand melee, so there is absolutely no excuse for this kind of crap. Trying to find any logical sense to this decision is like scrambling my own brain with a power drill. It's like one hand of the dev team is trying to make something pretty and shiny, and the other hand is holding a hammer over it so they can smash it as soon as it's done.
I think it adds nice flavour to Frontlines, but they really need to make it less rigid... I see no reason why we cannot have a system that simply prioritizes putting you in your Grand Company, rather than locking us to them... If 72 people are queuing, start a match, if it's a 24A/21M/27F split, take some of the Flames and put them in Maelstrom, perhaps with some additional rewards involved to encourage not throwing matches for your true Grand Company...
Would be quite nice if PvP had a skirmish style lobby to play around in during queues... So rather than queuing and sitting on your ass, you queue and get put into a non-serious waiting room-style match, and as that fills up we get given options; 24 or 72? Seize or Shatter? Temporarily sign up with a different Grand Company for additional rewards to speed up queues? Would make waiting somewhat more entertaining, and provide us with options to speed up queues, win-win. We can't even get them to show us how the queue is filling like with every PvE queue though, so that's probably just a futile dream...
In general though, Grand Companies in this game are just pathetic... It really feels like they just went down a checklist of things a MMO needs, without actually justifying this faction system... "We need a faction system! Why? IDK"... I'd kill for something like XIs Conquest system, shame the development team seems pretty incapable of emulating good content from XI. Yes I'm talking about Hunts and Diadem... They could honestly just remove Grand Companies from the game entirely and I doubt it would have any real negative impact... They've done nothing with them, there's no nationalism in this game like there was with XI... It's a damn shame, and I'd like them to fix that since I think it really enhances the game in general, but right now it's just a means of restriction and nothing more... Be that for Frontlines or glamours...
