An Example of why Feast (or PvP in general) needs a better tutorial

Just saw a video on my youtube playlist >>Here<< and a part of me -headdesk- a little on the inside

He is advertising Feast but making alot of common mistakes (and a few of his teammates) which he is probably unaware of due to the lack of tutorial such as:
    -Lack of PvP Skills
-Not spending AP because hes unaware of PvP skills (he hit PvP rank 8)
-Sleep Spam and causing resistance at one point
-Unaware of LB being personal and not team-based (?)
-In a 4v4 (ranked) without any of the above -salt intensifies-

I understand hes a moderately famous youtuber and probably doesn't take the game as serious, however, this video clearly shows how unaware a avg.new player to PvP is due to a lack of (hall of novice-esque tutorial) and one of the reasons why people get frustrated with solo matches in Feast.

People are frustrated in solo q because they lose. Just right now its easy for them to point their finger at the new guy because well... He's the new guy and probably is screwing up. But... Even if you had all gold vs gold, people will still rage at each other because they feel the other player didn't perform at "their" standards.

    Don't believe me?

Just look at some of the threads here where two players with experience argue with each other. Both are in silver or gold, both have experience, both think they are right... both both both. This guy will in fact learn how to use pvp skills and the feast through playing. (Like every other game there is with a ranked mode, people use it to learn. Solo also means you are choosing the option to go in blind and hope for a good team). It's not like every time you go in your the only guy with a new person on your team. Everyone is going through it.

Want SE to spend more time on the matchmaking system that everyone says is broken? Keep reading...

Ey I'm not saying a tutorial wouldn't be nice and help new players. Just pointing out the frustration will still be there in full force because this is the norm.

People will always complain and blame each other, or even the game. Because they all want to be high on the leaderboards and feel they deserve to be top 10. Only difference is we need players like this guy to help the scene grow. To give SE a reason to put more time into the game and give us the changes we want to see.

Because amongst ourselves PVP is a low populated part of the game that SquareEnix CAN afford to ignore. Literally.

I make sense today or no? >;3

EDIT: Because I know this will come up...

Just because they decided to involve rewards does not mean they must have a super fair, structured noob proof system. It could be unranked for all they care and still it stands...

The players that finish this season with the most points will be rewarded with some exclusive gifts.

    NOT!

The best PVP players of each dater center will be rewarded with some exclusive gifts.

The only way to do that would be to hold an actual tournament for people to prove their worth. So I hope after reading that some of you wont qq so much for dropping rank in solo queue...

    Nah I'm dreaming. Kappa

Yes this is fantastic and all, but this was not an attack on new players. It was just pointing out that even a clearly sponsored advertiser for feast may have easily missed the bare basics of PvP because of a lack of a detailed tutorial. I simply stated it was a contributing factor to the frustration of "blaming the new guy" because they aren't properly trained or aware people take ranked more seriously/SE not having mandatory training.

I know you wasn't. Just thought I'd step in before it turns into that because... it will.

I can forgive not knowing how exactly to play, but not having PvP skills set is starting to become really unforgivable IMO... How about a simple addition to the unlock quest that just forces people to go into Actions & Traits and set something from the PvP tab? Wasn't there an early Archer quest that had you do a specific move against some targets? Something like that. Purify is universal across all the Jobs and can be used on other targets, a simple "Use Purify on me" before people can access any PvP at all would be enough IMO... It forces new players to relook and notice that there are PvP skills, and it even teaches people that Purify can be used on party members... Wouldn't be a massively difficult addition to make, either...

I disagree with most of your opinions Fen, but this is a solid call out. There isn't really anything to teach players how to pvp. Adding insult to injury the play dynamic in pvp situations is grossly different from pve. They should add something to HotN , and make it mandatory before being able to queue into any ranked content in my opinion.

Well...if the community was better populated, that would not be much of an issue because bad players would eventually play with and against other bad players, but with PvP as unpopular as it is, I reckon this can be a real issue.

Not sure how to fix that to be honest. Sure, you can lock access, but that just turns people away and compounds the underlying issue, which is that there are not enough players to match people according to skill properly (even in the long run...). Seems like a rock and a hard place situation.

Another rule to learn, don't run into the enemy team with a lot of medals and no support... >< Had a tank last night lose the game for us because he run right into the enemy base with no one around him... At least it was 8v8, but made me not want to queue after that ><.

There just isn't anywhere to practice or learn right now other than ranked 4vs4. Frontline wait time is over an hour, up to 2 hours before I give up. Currently in 8vs8 feast queue for 80 minutes and still going. I normally play scholar but I wanted to try a melee damage dealer out now that I upgraded my computer from running every on lowest and struggling to everything on max and good. I have no real choice right now but to practice in 4s ranked.

to edit in: well over 2 hours for 8vs8 practice feast. Don't hate if you see me in ranked as a first time melee pvp player.
2nd edit: keep getting the same handful of people over and over, and one of them just swears and insults people every game. Also I'm going up against players that are on the top 10 gold rankings from the website. To be honest if this is all the entry level PvP they have for new players no wonder there is so few doing PvP.
