How Long Would it take someone to Acquire 9,999 Wind Clusters

I understand the process for how it happens. But I'm looking for a specific time table. How many hours of grinding out nodes does it take?

If you're doing aetherial reduction for clusters, you can grind out about 300-400 every 12 minute window pretty easily, so full on grinding 5-6 hours I would think.

300-400 sounds pretty low for a window if you were using potions and specifically going for clusters instead of dawnborne/leafborne with the clusters as an added bonus. But there's only two windows with wind, so I'd say about 1,000 per game day if you knew what you were doing.

1000 per game day? Q.Q i can get around 100-150 ice clusters on average per game day with my fisher (but it's completely RNG) - and water? uhm, yeah... some say the fisher can get water clusters too...

how is that fair? either make the gatherers equal or just give ice and water to botanist and miner too... the fisher would lose nothing because it's completely pointless to farm for clusters with the fisher.

No wonder why wind clusters sell between 50-100g and Ice/water sell for 500-700 each. lol.

Ice should be cheaper than water. Pteranodons reduce into ice, have a nice open window to catch them on, and seem to be fairly common. Water seems to include pain and ritual sacrifice.

In all seriousness, collectable fishing for reduction is pure RNG. Botany and Mining are a bit of RNG with good opportunities for player manipulation.

you make way more water clusters by gathering them in mor dhona with bot/min than with aethiracal reduction as fisher. catching the pteronodon for ice clusters is slightly faster than gathering in mor dhona, but still not really woth it.

The fastest way to gather water clusters is desynthing storm chasers in my experience. Storm Chasers (requires high level fisher as it's a lvl 60, 1* fish) they are caught extremely fast due to quick bites (bite within 2-4 seconds of casting), can be caught anytime of day or night and desynth into 1-2 clusters each very often like 99% chance or something like that (requires very high level CUL desynth to even get close to 80-100% chance of desynth success though on this specific fish). The only downside in my opinion is using up blue scrip bait to catch them but the bait is very cheap and easy to get/stock up on anyways.

I get around 100-150 water clusters every 20-25 minutes from them (comes from around 75-100 of those fish caught in that time period in my experience) but will have to switch fishing spots every once in a while then back again due to 'fish suspect something amiss'. On the plus side it also has a very decent chance for tier IV materia's when desynth them, I generally get around 10-15 per 30 minutes worth of fish but it should be noted they are crappy element materia's which I just trade in 5 at a time for other materia myself in the hopes of getting tier V's. You also get a lot of grade 6 dark matter and a lot of wind crystals too from them.

Just tried it out to see how fast I could round up clusters, I came out around 600 clusters per window of 4 game hours using cordials. That's about 3,000 clusters per hour of real world time, and a similar number of crystals. It's all a matter of rng and technique.
