[Suggestion] mog station items on the calamity salvager

With the release of the new furniture on the mog station, can we please have it so that if any item bought on the mog station is destroyed, it can be reclaimed from the calamity salvager, this isn't a gil investment that is lost, this is a real world money transaction, and thus the loss of an item needs to be harder.

This change will not affect the supply, as measures can be taken so that a player cant have duplicates, can't trade and can't sell, it will simply mean that the player can have it forever (which for the cost, is justified).

They won't want to do that as some players will want duplicates and will buy them. Your idea for replacing lost items is great, but the Calamity Salvagar currently has no way of telling if you have the item or not still, it just offers to sell you a duplicate which it will give you if you can hold it (i.e. not unique and already in your inventory).

Multiple purchases on the mogstation would still all be the same "object" so the salvager has no way of telling them apart and if you lost a particular one, how many you bought in the first place, if someone else now owns it (housing items can be "traded" by being placed/picked up after all).

Sure they could make a ton of changes to implement things differently, but given how it'd become a huge mess to try and put them in the salvager, they've just gone down the route of "be aware you might lose it" on the purchase page as it makes life simpler for them.

The carbuncle lamps don't have me rushing to throw money at the mog station so I'm not sure, do the new items get destroyed when you pick them up after placing them? If so then that's just stupid.

If they don't, then no need for the Calamity Salvager as you could just pick it up, place it in your bags, and move it to wherever you want (i.e. another house or a bank retainer).

After thinking about a bit, I have to agree that putting these on the calamity salvager could lead to abuse. Even if they were destroy-on-pickup, you could still fill up your house with 200 Ruby Carbuncle Lamps (not that big of a deal), get copies for your house and your FC (still not too bad), and give copies to anyone you were a tenant for. That last one is the kicker. You could potentially say to someone, "Hey, give me 5mil, add me to your tenant list and I'll put a Premium Stuffed Moogle in your house."

As long as it's not destroy-on-pickup, then the Mogstation furnishings just function like any other Mogstation item: You have to keep it in your inventory forever, and if you throw it away, you have to buy a replacement.

They'd have to make it so it was tagged to the individual player and upon that player being removed from said house (tenant removal, kicked/leaving fc) the item in question is also removed OR only allow mogstation items to be added to rooms/houses owned by the individual (FC leader would have to buy/be gifted the item to place in the fc house). Barring that, the price needs to reflect a highly disposable easy to lose item.

Yes I agree, but given all those changes they'd have to make, they'd more than likely going to stick with how it is now and just have the warning on the purchase page that says about you might lose the item. It's considerably easier for them and prevents a lot of possible new problems that their changing things might cause.

So far we don;t know if this is necessary or not, there is neither confirmation nor denial that the furniture would be destroyed on pcik up (save the mog station itself but that's moot when a similar message pops up every, single, time you place furniture) and even if they were, they haven;t done it to the event tied furniture like the Stuffed Succubus, Archon Egg Tower or that damned sakura tree, you know, event furniture. I'd imaging they would go for that first if they are to do it at all.

They are not destroyed on pickup.
