Win-trading prevention in Gold Saucer Tournaments

If there were diminishing returns in matches for those that play the same pc over and over, I think that win-trading could be almost eradicated. So long as the, "repeat opponent," penalty is strong enough; those that trade, if not banned from playing entirely, will be forced into trade groups, which would be tougher to maintain.
In this scenario the real players will no longer have to deal with those that cheat with their singular cheater friend, often taking top prize in the process.
Another way would be to lock matches to new opponents only. Essentially in a 30 match tournament, even if there are only 30 players on a server, force everybody to play everybody once.

To combat trading from a player side, starting a Gold Saucer Linkshell (like I did) is a great way. It makes it easy to get opponents. Report traders too. There's no need for cheaters to get top prize all the time. I hope Square does something about this. I'd rather see an empty tournament than a fake tournament. On Behemoth, I don't think it'd be empty.

Remove the insane MGP reward + remove the tournament only cards.

I mean, i have yet to come first or even close in TT but i'm sure its quite a bit of mgp.

I got 13th once. I think it was around 36k mgp.
I like the rewards for tourneys tho. The platinum packs are easy enough to get, especially if there's a linkshell for players. The stupid thing is, is that when I got 13th almost EVERYBODY that beat me won 50 of 50 matches, in a tourney with the random rule?! If Square just wrote some code to force new opponents, and block matches between characters on the same account; it'd be almost entirely legit! They just need to do something about it.
Without rewards, might as well just play non-tourney matches I think.

Indeed i do like the rewards, same with LOV its easy mgp. But still, i couldn't care less about the MGP i just want the cards from the tournaments. But RNG bites me in the ass, and there is no way to secure a 1/2/3 spot to get the two cards i need.

I'm stuck at 129 cards atm. i need Cloud & 2 Tourny cards. rest are dungeons, which i just haven't bothered with cause i know i'm not gonna get the tournament cards anytime soon. I could get cloud within a few days just doing races right now. But i just don't feel the motivation for it anymore.

I can't imagine they are going to fix it now. It's been so jokingly broken for so long, they obviously couldn't care less.
I've never placed higher than like 14th, and only even finished on the board a handful of times, yet I've already got all the cards, fenrir, the minions and glamour pieces, so even if they do fix it, it's too little, too late. Don't really know why they bothered implementing this tourney in the first place, I can't really imagine a way they could've done it more poorly

They could always add new rewards! =) ..if its fixable, they should fix it. A gm told me that I can continue to report the cheating; and recommended posting about it on these forums. They get after people for win-trading in pvp so..
