Unsatisfied with GM's investigation.

I contacted a GM earlier tonight, and then proceeded to deal with harassment for two more hours alongside my GF before we both logged off. I'm not sure if GM's take harassment seriously, but it has my GF thinking of paying money to change servers and leave all her friends behind just to escape this crap.

I'm extremely unimpressed with GM's and their handling of this situation, if they are even handling it at all. I do not know what investigating they are doing, but had they simply ghosted my or her character they would've seen the incredibly rude things the harasser was saying and been able to mete out justice. That is all I want to say, but if anyone else is unsatisfied feel free to chime in, hopefully saying something will help get GM's to take things more seriously or figure out better ways to do the job they need to do.

Did the harassment took place a week before contacting a GM, if so did you have evidence of the exchange?

The harassment has been taking place for a few weeks now, and although I only contacted the GM last night my GF had contacted one prior about another player (her ex) who continues to harass her to this day. So there are actually two cases where this has happened, but I was referring to the one last night. I was being harassed (as was my GF and even her friend) when I contacted the GM, while I was speaking with the GM, and for a couple hours AFTER I spoke with the GM.

Holy crap, that is not ok. I'm sorry you're both having to deal with that.

I do wish there was more ways to submit chat snips or logs to them to show them what exactly is going on.

I know you've probably already tried this, but can you blacklist in the meantime?

Yes and no, I had my GF blacklisted him as she was getting very upset, but I have not just so I can see and read that he's still behaving this way. I do not respond at all, but he doesn't need a response unfortunately, he just keeps going. Blacklisting him also doesn't help when he sees our characters face to face, runs over, and starts pointing and using /s to tell people all around us that we're terrible people, or that my GF was the 'worst friend on this server'. This doesn't happen every single day thankfully, and we're starting to avoid where he commonly sits around as well, but honestly it doesn't seem like GM's are doing anything at all and my GF is so upset she's ready to change servers and leave all her friends behind (which she is very sad about having to do).

It's also an issue with her ex as well, whom she reported weeks ago and is still causing commotions here and there, for instance changing their name to a good friend of many LS members (with a different vowel), impersonating them, then having people talking to him in the LS to make my GF confused and find that they were on her blacklist. She took him off and after a few words in the LS he started whispering her, still impersonating her, asking how she was doing and etc. Eventually she realized it wasn't her friend and he started to harass her before she blacklisted him. This sort of thing is NOT okay, yet the GM's aren't doing a damn thing to punish him either, despite having been reported weeks ago. How long does an investigation take??

Social media is a powerful tool as well. If they have a twitter page you can always post it with a screenshot of the harassment. Blot out all of the sensitive information (including the harassing dickhead who otherwise has nothing else better to do with his time other than to pay a sub just to harass someone) and upload a screenshot for them and others to see.

Sucks to hear you going thru it. A name or even a server transfer or even both might be the best bet. They can't find you and will never know where you went unless you decided to somehow advertise it.

Name and server change = witness protection.

I hope your harasser sees this message to know what kind of a prick with no life he is. Goes to show that he's a nobody with a lot of time on his hand. Speaks volumes for his character.

I agree with the above post. If you get it out onto social media, Square won't be able to ignore it as easily. I've been harassed too in this game, though they were minor random cases such as teleport canceling and people just being ignorant and saying things like "being autistic" which I personally have so I took it offensively. Since they were random, I could never tell if they were truly dealt with like it was said.

Anyways, hope they'll fix things for you. Nobody should be harassed in public, especially in a game they payed for.

Well, I would hope the GM's do their job rather than having to force the issue into light via social media. He was following my GF around last night too, so clearly not a damn thing has been done. I'm going to try and have her catch him in the act (since he harasses her far more than me) and get some evidence ourselves, since really, this is getting RIDICULOUS. We shouldn't have to pay money to SE because they WON'T do their job..
