The reason fighting games have BO5 or 7 in grand finals vs Bo3. The more matches the players have to play the less likely something like luck can alter who is the victor.

Actually, it feels like it matters more and more. The frustration levels increase with every match that is bad. I got the mount in pre-season. I have done 300+ matches since the first season hit. The more you play, the more broken it feels as you find more and more things that are wrong with it. It outright makes the people who actually care about the feast, quit.
Why play something that isn't fair? Why go for the top 100 or top 10 when there's so much luck involved.
Someone can be like "Yeah I'm top 10!" and people can easily just dismiss your achievements with "you got really lucky. I was above 10th place, but then I had a string of bad luck." "I can't carry with my class like you can carry with yours, since it's so obviously broken. You just play that class because it's easy wins."
The fact that people have stopped playing because they are afraid of the bad luck that will ruin their score shouldn't be a thing.
