I was in a party with my fellow FC members because we were trying to help level one of our new members who needed to go to Haukke Manor. But they accidentally chose Sastasha and none of us noticed. So we decided that since we were a preset party of 4 that we should just leave and go to Haukke Manor.

But upon trying to go to Haukke Manor, we got the error message that said since I left Sastasha first, I got the 30 min penalty that goes to whoever leaves a dungeon first without completing it. This has never happened under these circumstances to me before nor has it happened this way to anyone else I know.

So SE, why are you now penalizing preset parties for making a genuine mistake? Take the 30 min penalty you gave me and do you know what with it.

This was added several patches ago (maybe even before Heavensward, can't remember); its to prevent pre-mades from queueing into a roulette and then leaving if they don't like what they got (which was a lot more common than you'd think)

That being said why were you in a roulette section if you were trying to do a specific dungeon which is chosen from different menu.

Seems like the new guy accidentally put you into leveling roulette instead of Haukke Manor, which is why you got the penalty. Vote abandon is always the safer option, though you understandably didn't think there was any risk in just leaving.

Yeah, only reason that should have happened (barring any bugs in the system) is if you queued a roulette instead.

In roulettes, premades are not exempt from the "first person that leaves gets a lockout" rule to avoid cheesing the roulette.
