I too love Ronin Warriors. Although I will point out - I point to Yojimbo as an awesome Samurai and get corrected "he's a Ronin". Then a picture appears of an "Oni" from a show called literally "Ronin" Warriors.

Lol. Well Ronin Warriors was a power ranger esque Samurai show, which was definitely awesome, but you didn't see me linking images of the main characters. lol

That said, again, I'm not against the idea of Ronin. In fact, I think they could very easily differentiate a Tank and DPS by doing something like dual katanas for Tank since they don't have anything like that atm:

However, if I was forced to choose between a heavily armored SAM versus a robed ronin-type, I would always choose the heavily armored one.

Giant chains burst from the ground chaining up the enemy boss then the ground shakes and deals...the standard 3 gauge bar limit break amount of damage...but definitely feels way more powerful than any other LB.

In regards to LBs, I had an idea for a tank LB where an army of undead Ashigaru rise up and use fortifications to defend their "lord." You can use this, Yoshida. Royalty free.

Not really. It won't affect raiding too much, but I never made that point to begin with. I merely point out that it helps at a time when people are going to need it the most and be judging their MMO the most.

what's the point of making rdm, healer?

Something new? I think a healer that could turn on a melee stance when they don't need to heal sounds already interesting enough. Will we get it? Not sure. It could easily be a DPS, but I think if they add BLU, which I heavily expect that they will and should, then 2 melee caster DPS will be a little too redundant imho.

if "samurai" was a tank role would a red/blue mage with sword(s) dps satisfy the group that wants a sword dps? probably not....which group do we want to hear whine more when SE hits us with their plan; the ones who want samurai tank or the ones wanting a "good" sword dps class, lol? With the current armory system and direction I don't think samurai would come as both tank and dps.

Also, funny how a lot of media people are referencing for samurai involve the titular samurai characters defending others. Kenshin, Samurai Seven etc. Hmm, which role is about defending others I wonder?

you know is not true this point? it will not make the tank more present because you will add samurai as job that can tank, at best for 2 month you will have a bit more tank before it get down. you are the one ignoring this fact and simply want to play a samurai tank while being already a tank as main....

It doesn't need to be a permanent increase to be worth it 2 months of an increase of tank population during the launch of an expansion is more that worth it. And it's better than the alternative of the number of tanks going DOWN during those 2 months because you only added dps jobs. If you can't see that logic then that's on you. You're the one who is in constant denial every time you crop up in these kinds of threads. I'm done trying to reason with you and your narrow and inflexible viewpoints.


I could say you are just as biased because you main a dps and want it to be a dps. The difference is I will play samurai regardless of its role, and that is why I realize that it being released as a dps can hurt tank numbers if no other tank is released. I very much prefer tanking but even I would give it up to play SAM if it happens to be a dps.
