Doom train might appear in the future!

For those not in the known and are playing playing Final Fantasy XIV as your first game, Doom Train is quite possibly one of the most ridiculously awesome summon from Final Fantasy VIII.

Wonder what they're going to do with him? A dungeon based on exploring carriages? (Dungeons are linear anyway may as well) a straight up trial boss? Do you think they're reference Final Fantasy VI's Phantom Train with a suplex throwback somewhere?

October for the US one from what I understand, which is the same month the 2013 Fanfests were held (where Heavensward was first announced). So there's a long time to go before we hear anything more.

Also that article mentioned nothing about Doomtrain, so I think you're making a big assumption here (the only reference ever mentioned about Doomtrain was a very vague reference made back during last year's Rising event) - as it is FFVI's Phantom Train is already mentioned in the game as being the nickname for Garlemald's (non undead/summon) railway that runs between Castrum Meridanium and Castrum Centri, so I'm wondering how the lore could add Doomtrain into the game, unless it's a newly created Primal or something... but I guess we'll see.

During the Pax Panel of yesterday, there was a direct question about the Doomtrain.
YoshiP replied something like "Maaaaybe in the patch 5.0... maaaaaybe when we go in the Garlean Empire [intended as a new location for a new expansion]".

I wouldn't read too much into his comment at this point. They wouldn't have more than a very basic idea of the direction they want to go in 5.0. He seemed more surprised someone asked and also said maybe doomtrain would fly (which would make it a doom plane? Doom Rocket?)

Doom train might appear in the future, possibly when players might get to go to Garlemald.
