SE need to gain the playerbase trust back...when half the player base is thinking that SE is going to implement something and its going to be ANOTHER failure...and the other half is praying the twelve or hoping for the best....oh well...

i said it lots of times but SE is good creating content ....it fails on the implementation ....chocobos , diadem , hunts , LoV ....and while some players like chocos , hunts and some even like LoV ....u dont waste dev time creating something that no1 will enjoy or play , ppl say the same thing for Savage , but Savage at least its getting better , gordias was "bad" (too punishing) , midas is at least fun and have some fresh ideas...SE is learning from the mistakes ,at leats looks like ....

I think the issue as much with the teasing as with the implementation.

Tease: You're going to have this exciting FC content where you go to floating island and explore and try to fulfill different objectives for unique rewards.
Reality: You go to a giant player cluster and gank the same 4 mobs repeatedly for 90 minutes.

Tons of truth to this.

Another great example is the FC system. It's awesome that we get these guilds where we have houses, shops, shared resources, bonuses, etc.

But... what are FCs for? What can we actually DO with them? There are no FC rankings, or events by which FCs would even be ranked. There's no content that encourages FCs to schedule group events. There's really no reason for FC members to even collaborate much.

Think how much more enjoyable this game would be if endgame content were more interwoven with FCs?

I feel like each arm of the development team is good at doing what it does -- and the brain (Yoshi-P) is good at keeping those arms moving -- but there's a real lack of planning as to how the overall team works together to build a game with shared threads. As a result, the development team has cultivated a reputation of churning out content that's out of touch with the game's playerbase.

Um... those are not FC rankings. Those are Frontline rankings. And you can't even do PvP with your FC.

Though it would be really cool if you could!

EDIT: Oh, I see down at the bottom... FC rankings based on accumulated FC credits.

That's great... but so what? Why is accumulating FC credits special? What does that mean? What does it get for anyone? Why care about that?

This is exactly what I'm talking about. At some point, someone on the "guild" arm of the dev team thought to have some kind of ranking system... but then it never went anywhere. There's no connection between that ranking system and any other meaningful part of the game. It's literally pointless. There is no incentive or reason for anyone in FCs to even know those rankings exist (which is why I wasn't aware of it despite being a member of one of my server's larger FCs).

Cautiously optimistic for this content. It's sounding very much like the kind of content I'm been waiting for, but I've been burned enough times after getting my hopes up to know better than to do that.

Nyzul Isle is the first thing that popped into my head, and I enjoyed that.

They're not worthless, they're just not tied to a single specific thing. It's a measure of how active FCs are in relation to other FCs, based on all the things that give FC credits, which is pretty much everything.

As a solo enthusiast back in XI, I am cautiously optimistic that this will strike a chord with me.
