Movement Issue Walking/Running

So I just started playing and I apologize if this has been brought up before. Also I should start off by saying I am playing on the PS4.

My issue is that I'll be pressing up on the left stick to move and while running he will just stop and slow down to walking speed then go back to running. Now I am not talking about sprinting (even tho it does happen while sprinting as well). The best way I can describe it would be he seems to have a movement stutter. Like Run-Walk-Run-Run-Walk. Sometimes I'll be pressing all the way up on the left stick and he will run for like 3-4 seconds then just slow down and walk and he will continue to walk until I let go of the left stick and press it up again.

I don't believe this has anything to do with my controller as I have not noticed this problem in any other game nor do I think it is a lag issue as I have an excellent connection and there doesn't appear to be any signs of lag.

If anyone could help me out with this problem it would be greatly appreciated, as this extremely annoying and almost on the border of unplayable. Thanks in advance.

I play on PC myself so I can't be certain, but does pressing the l3 button ( that is, pressing down on the joystick) activate the walk option? If so you can probably change it in settings with NP.

Here's a video I made further showing the issue. Please note in the video I am pressing UP fully on the left thumb stick.

You can notice the stuttery movement through out the entire video. Also at 00:41 my character will be in the walk animation for atleast 10 seconds even tho I am pressing the thumb stick all the way up.

I see. Well how old is your remote? Might be gassing out on you. Have you tried using another remote? Is this a consistent problem or does it go away for a while? Is your remote wireless? You might need to make sure the receiver is clear. Have you tried resetting the button options to default? You might have accidentally selected walk for another, commonly used button and be pressing that. And finally have you tried turning it off and on again? (Seriously)

Well it's a PS4 controller so it's not that old. And I have no other issues with it on any other games. As far as I can see there's no option for a "walk" button. Your movement is just based on how much you move the left thumb stick. Press it up slightly and your character will walk, press it all the way up and your character will run.... lol well he's supposed to, in my case that's not happening

Mysterious. All I can suggest is try another controller and make sure you're close enough to your system for it to register.

You're not alone - happens to me too on PS4 from time to time. I too thought it may be the controller but this is the only game I have a problem with so I'm guessing it's some sort of intermittent connection problem. Only happens when moving forward for some reason!
