    Shorter Fights?

    This isn't a complaint thread about boss difficulty (I'm in a midcore group and we're slowly working through a8s), first of all.

    I just want to understand why the developers consistently make 11-13 minute boss fights and continually only do 4 bosses a tier.

    Why couldn't Brute Justice v1 and Brute Justice v2 have been two separate instances of ~7 minutes each? (You could even make them more mechanically intense/more dps intensive if the fight did not drag on forever.)

    Or the Manipulator with legs versus without legs per fight?

    I understand it would take longer to create patches, but would it be worth it to increase bosses per tier count to, say, 6 bosses for a 7/8 month tier cycle?

    Tiers are already on a 7 month cycle. If it worked directly proportionally (I have no idea if it does) it would be 6 bosses on a 10.5/12 month cycle.

    As for fight length that probably has more to do with allowance for timing of CDs, pacing mechanics and having variety in an encounter. Brute Justice would be an easier fight if you only had to deal with his 50% of his mechanics in a single fight.

    SE has said they would like to do more but currently don't have the staff. The good news is they are actively hiring more content creators. Yoshi P is on record as having said that he would have liked to have three teirs of difficulty but lacks the people to make it a reality.

    Because the raiding population isn't big enough to justify making 12 boss encounters each tier. SE tend to add many phases and that means that it takes longer coupled with the fact that a fight is longer adds an artificial difficulty. It's stretching out the four boss fights as much as possible considering there's only four per tier.

    Bear in mind that as people gear up the time spent on a single encounter decreases. I actually really like the Brute Justice encounter because it feels like a final boss to me. It's a very fun fight that works due to the different phases and how everything fits together.

    They should go back and make more fights like Absolute Virtue and Pandemonium Warden instead of having short fights like we have now.

    I would like to have longer bosses actually but lower HP normal enemies, I still remember when I was in sastasha the first time and I was annoyed because the bats took 15 hits plus all auto attacks.

    i kinda agree.... is so frustrating having that long battles , because once u learn phase 1 and 2....and u wipe on 3 ...u have to repeat 10 min battles over and over....add waiting on Cds....and somedays is a nightmare , no wonder that raiding pop is small :/

    i would prefer 8 bosses with less phases than 4 bosses with 3-4 phases

    The shorter an encounter is designed for the easier it becomes? Look at your suggestion, saying to split these fights into two different ones. Yet by doing that you know what you do? One fight you start at 100% another fight you start at 100%. One fight you can win and then move on to the next one, then the next fight you can keep doing til you win.

    The aspect of having to do them in sucession is what makes it challenging because you have to be on your A game to succeed. By simply splitting it into two you simplify the difficult even though you say it's not about making content easier, you in essence do make content easier because now you have a fight which was designed with both parts in mind split into two in which you get to start at 100% for both.

    I would certainly enjoy at least one 24+ hours fight in the overworld. Something to go to sleep worrying about.
