Why do we have a "NOOB" Warning in the game?

I can see your concern, but having just recently hitting 60 on my Warrior and being new as well, I have yet to run into anyone having any issue with it. Tanking Gordias and Midas and several trials as a first timer in FFXIV has been a very fun experience. Maybe I have been lucky but I haven't seen any negative comments.

OP the solution is simple, find a good FC, and if your as good of a player as you claim they will quickly walk you through each said clear you need for the bonus. They know there part and if you can handle yours too they will gladly take some free tomes. Now if your not quite that good, they should still help, just it may not be a quick to get each fight done.

A good FC is going to help there members clear stuff that is not regularly having "clear/learning" parties anymore and is not so old that people will take anyone for free bonus. What a good FC expects in return is you then help others who need it. I look at mine back in early FCoB days when I cam back and didnt have a T9 clear but I knew the fight (old static just couldnt cut it...), they took me in for my clear and within the week I had helped about 15 other FC members get clears. When I came back just before 3.2, same thign happened, i easily got all my ex primal clears and such, with the main thing I didnt get into quick was Seph because there were always 3-4 learning/clear parties in the PF, but when they all failed and they knew I knew the fight I got in for my clear and could start farming.

I'm just hoping it's possible to get a tank spot in a decent raiding group once I get my warrior in preraid BiS gear.

10 years experience means nothing in a dungeon you aren't familiar with. practice in learning/clear party's. Memorize all the steps watch some videos if needed. When you can reach to 15% in EX primal fight or have the fight memorized with no problems ask a farm group. Ask the leader and tell them your situation. Its how Ive cleared Ravan EX, Throdan EX and Sephirot EX all without messing up. The groups were understanding after I explained it to them that Ive got the fight memorized perfectly and some of them were fine with it because that's how they get their clears. I told them I can do it and proved it. Ive created farm parties myself I never put "no bonus" in PF. There are some really good players that cant clear EX fights because of other people and some people that have cleared still suck yet they join farm parties and cant carry their own weight.

The "NOOB" warning is something I actually prefer, I'd rather see that than just assume everyone has done. There seems to be a stigma against new players and that does bother me, when I see a new player warning I just take a few seconds and give them the basics of the boss, i.e. "stand here when this happens, kill that add first, watch out for big telegraphs here" and then just pull, never been an issue before. If we do wipe I'll just mention mistakes I notice.

Bear in mind folks if u join a party and that message comes up and you drop out in the middle of that run it is considered harassment. This is why there is a 30 min lock-out. If anything SE needs to do what Aion online does. You drop a party you are locked out of all instances for 6 hours.

I like the new player message, helps me see if there are any new people in the group. I know a lot of people DO have an issue when they try to sneak into a farm party, which you shouldnt be joining AT ALL, less..you are on farm status. Farm status DOES NOT mean a clear. And that is the only time I really see people have any type of issues. I donno maybe it is just my server.

God no. This will only breed more of the great players that sit and shout "please kick me!!"

i have 10 years of tanking experience in raids on wow, and i literally get discriminated against because of the ffxiv tramp stamp of the noob, i mean seriously anytime i try to do current content i either get - Were looking for experienced players or You must have killed the boss already, and im just sitting here playing afk simulator raiding idyllshire all day every day thinking how the actual F am i supposed to get that experience with this tramp stamp on my forehead

If there's something I learned after 4 years tanking in WoW and 3 years tanking in SWTOR is that those 7 years of "tanking experience" were worth nothing while playing FFXIV. The mechanics are so diferent I had to make myself to forget everything I knew and learn from 0.

So yeah...your "experience" means nothing if you never cleared an extreme boss. And this coming from a player that's tired of dying at Nidhogg Ex because I still have the "bonus" stigma.

Farm parties would be hell if a "tramp stamp" did not exist, imagine all the trojan horses coming in and messing up your runs.

To be honest, the most farmpartys feel like you have 7 newbees with you who got carried themselfs.

But yes most of the Times you know pretty fast who the new one is since most of them don't even care to watch a guide for something, but sometimes you rly get surprised from this persons since they do stuff better than the ones who don't give bonus.
