I have never been harassed/put down/heard complaints/discriminated against for being new to content. On my first account or this one. And for me, I'm always positive about it because I love the Bonus.

I honestly don't know why this post is being upvoted. No one should be expected to do a "learning" party. If it was implemented into the actual game that you can't do said content through duty finder until you have made and cleared it with a party with someone who has cleared it then I would understand this, but it is not and will never be a thing. So long as everything is readily and easily available through the Duty Finder everyone should expect that every time they go to do content there is the chance there will be some one new to said content.

Because that person is talking primarily about Party Finder, not Duty Finder. I got the impression that OP was as well. It seems to me like OP is trying to join parties for things like Sephirot EX to progress in gearing up but with the age of the content most of them are farms. If you are new to a fight, you do not join a farm and expect them to get you your clear. You're doing a disservice to the other 7 people in the party that way. My advice to OP is to make their own learning party if they'd like to learn the current content.

I don't ever mind seeing the "new player" message in Duty Finder cause relics eat tomes like they're going out of style.

I've been in dungeons where we have had multiple "Noobs" in the party and nobody really complains about it. We just get happy knowing we get a bonus tomes from these new players.

I honestly preferred when we only got this message on outdated content like pre-Heavensward. I mean I got my Shiva EX clear in a farm and no message revealed before I got the achievement that I never had gotten a clear before.
Also I was fair enough to only join when really being sure about the fight.
On the other hand many people let me in with bonus when I explained stuff (some others rather raged but oh well) and so do I... either way always depends on the person you run into.

Want to join the Eorzean Derp? Use recruitment code M482YUK on Mogstation for a free Friendship Circlet which gives bonus XP up to level 25 ^^

    tramp stamp on my forehead
Erm. Okay, I guess you don't. xD

(a player has not completed this dungeon/raid before you will recieve a bonus, feel free to figure out who it is, and abuse the living shit out of him before any combat has taken place),
The alternative is to let people looking for carries abuse the good faith of people trying to put together farm parties.

i mean seriously anytime i try to do current content i either get - Were looking for experienced players or You must have killed the boss already, and im just sitting here playing afk simulator raiding idyllshire all day every day thinking how the actual F am i supposed to get that experience with this
If you're trying to join farming parties then yes of course they are going to want prior experience. I would think that 10 years of tanking experience on WoW would teach you that someone in a pivotal role (like tank, for example) that goes in not knowing the content is going to be extremely detrimental to the group's chances of clearing. If you want to learn content and you don't see any learning parties up for it, there's absolutely nothing stopping you from going into Party Finder yourself and making one. Those of us that already know the content weren't magically gifted the knowledge of how to clear it when it was implemented. Most of us went in there and worked our butts off to learn it. Many times if you put up a learning/clear party, veteran players will join to help you out with the clear. Just make sure that you're doing a Normal party setup, especially for EX primals; everyone wants a shot at the bird so Lootmaster is a no-no that will see your party sit there empty for hours.

Some people are willing to take that risk but you better believe your performance will be closely scrutinized, especially if you're going to be claiming you do world first progression. Mess up basic mechanics and you'll catch a boot to the ass real fast.

To be honest, the most farmpartys feel like you have 7 newbees with you who got carried themselfs.

But yes most of the Times you know pretty fast who the new one is since most of them don't even care to watch a guide for something, but sometimes you rly get surprised from this persons since they do stuff better than the ones who don't give bonus.

The whole point should be to let people know that communication and understanding are going to be needed for this fight. The problems I see come from seeing this warning is that both sides do not communicate or if they do it's poorly. It's not S.E., it's the people that make things difficult.

It's a collaboration from both sides. As a new person you should have the skills to learn and adapt, not flawlessly but at least be able to adjust. So far with the new content such as dungeons, trials, raids people can quickly explain most of these and those who are new can adapt since a majority of the mechanics have been used before. Also except your flaws and take in criticism. Things like, you're not geared for this is just something you have to accept.

On the other side, the person that isn't new needs to understand that the new guy is going to die just like they did the first time. Except now it's not fun for them. When you're the new person and you screw up and die, it's a different feeling than being someone who knows the dance and has to watch someone else. When giving advice try not to put in things like "Seriously..why can't you do this?" now you got someone who isn't going to listen, and wait for you to mess up to point fingers.

The new people should ask questions, but they don't because they hope they perform well and someone else gets blamed for being new. Sometimes the people who have cleared are horrible at explaining. We had someone in the Final Steps say nothing more than "This is a fail" "wipe" "we're dead" "we aren't going to make it" and we didn't we did horrible because so many were new. Yet the problem with those statements are there is no solution to that problem. "This is a fail" why? "we're dead" why? A new guy got mad and told them to either help explain or quit it. So finally it was explained quickly. We were then able to keep people alive and made it up to killing he adds, just not quick enough. Then we found out we didn't have the DPS to do it quick enough..in other words we needed to go back and gear. We accepted that, and disbanded.

It may be the internet, and that's why people feel so empowered to yell or be rude..but I try to always talk to them as if they're actually within the same room as me. 90% of the people wouldn't act like that lol or if they did they would get taught to not do it again.

When I see the bonus I have never thought "Oh great, this is going to be a pain" or something.
I've always though "Aw yeah, bonus tomestones I love you, new guy!"

And if they have any questions, I tend to go into slightly more detail then I do if someone who's not new, but needs a refresher.
