Just returned from Pre-Xpac era, WHOA!

Hello everyone! I just recently resubbed, hadn't played since before the Xpac was released. I had a few jobs at 50, BLM had Coil gear, 114 Ilvl (120 was max back then?). BLM is my main.
Just got some story done, hit 51, still doing Books for my weapon quest.
I can't help but wonder though, with all the new stuff out, should i focus on something else? Should i grind out my story and get to 60 asap, then worry about dailies or "marks"? What currency is everyone collecting now-a-days for gear?
I know, a lot of questions. Didn't have my old guild returning or any old in game friends so I'm kinda left to my own devices. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Just letting you know i120 was never max, we went from i110 to i130. But regardless, I would recommend you get the story done. The whole process is again similar to the pre-50 levelling, and if you remember, the best thing to do was just continue with the story. You can do your levelling roulettes if you want to supplement this, but the story was the first place for a lot of people, and it will unlock a lot of content for you (in fact, I think most of the zones are locked off until you do the story).

Abandon your old relic, just focus on catching up on the story so you can get caught up in all the current content.

First goal is always main scenario quests and reaching the level cap alongside that.

Pick up sidequests as you go, collect aether currents in each of the 6 new field zones to unlock flight.

When you are done with main scenario, you might want to start the Anima weapon quest, which is similar to the old relic/zodiac but for Lv60 characters.

Then just work your way through all the currently available Lv60 content.

You are welcome to finish your old relic but just know that in its current state it will be outclassed by the first dungeon drop you get or make it comparable. The only real benefit to finishing the relic is you get to skip the Crystal Fate grind.

Thanks for the help everyone. I figured the Relic quest was a bit outdated, but the info I got online was kinda confusing on how it advanced now. I'll put that off for a bit then. Pretty much the path I expected to take, story quest to the end, and filling in the XP with Duties/Fates/Dailies/quests in the new areas.
Any tips for someone new to the Xpac that yall may not have known at first but would have benefited from?
Items you thought were useless but should maybe be saved for crafting/end game turn ins?

When it comes to crafting and gathering its all about the scrips, basically giant time sinks to allow you to buy enough items for maybe a few crafts before you have to wait another week as they also are capped like tomes. Nothing really stands out though as "Should have kept that".

Got it. Guess I'll just get back to having fun and exploring new zones. This weapon quest was dragging me down again!
