Question to healers

Cuz I must get my last dot off! I can't just put up Shadowflare Bio II and Miasma without Bio and Bane (and Aero)- that'd be crazy!

Also, been doing this since who knows how long. Maybe what you are seeing is that more and more players are getting more comfortable with their class as the game ages. It's less of a meta change and more of an experience change.

Because healing is so powerful that you "can" do it without causing wipes?

The healing meta is pretty much:"DPS as much as possible, heal as little as necessary" and you can heal someone from 1% to 100% very quickly. The incoming damage, especially when tanks use their CDs properly, is pretty laughable compared to incoming healing. So you really just need to stop DPSing when the tank is just about to pop.

But Seriously, Its a battle within itself to determine when it is safe enough to help damage.. Either you focus on healing the entire dungeon (thus giving the effect your after) or Toss out damage to increase overall Party DPS when its safe to do so (while also battling the GCD to get the heal out lol). There's a lot of factors to consider then just healing and while trying to make the part efficent as possible. Like how's the tank able to take/resist damage, how much is he going to pull and so forth. Its a tough job..

Since I don't heal I just wanted to understand. I agree with all that has been said so far. As long as when I'm tanking I don't die I'm fine with the healer.

Because I'm confident enough in my ability to recover a tank from 20%.
If I'm not, I wouldn't let it drop that low. Or I've already said "oh shit sorry". It depends on the content, who is tanking, etc etc.
I sometimes let my friends get to like. 5%.

I do let my SO (he plays PLD and I WHM) drop quite low. The lowest has been to 1 hitpoint, bene, and he lived. Just 1. I don't think I can ever beat that... And it kind of makes me sad lol

Just let the WAR or DRK pop their final resort, you can make them 1HP every run. ^^;
