I guess some would rather play themselves down so theyre not expected to do great and thus if they do mess up theyre less likely to get flak.
either that or there are a number of underhanded people who go for the meek, pity enducing route : /
Idk about anyone else but i like to go into things thinking im the absolute shizz and clearly "better" than whoever i get paired with randomly.
realistically im aware im average at the game overall and maybe above average at certain aspects.
but still, going into duties with the thought of "im such a good X role, im going to do the most amazing healing/dps/tanking, and if someone else is beating me then ill do even better just to prove it" personally for me drives me to prove to myself i can do that.
i wont say stuff or start bragging in the chats because Ego's are pointless and i think you should keep any thoughts of "im better than y'all" to yourself even if you only think it as a joke/self pep talk etc
also humility is key, you mess up, own up, accept it because mistakes happen, and now you get to learn from it and do better.
still, i can see how many struggle to believe in themselves when people will put them down at a moments notice.
Not always eays to maintain a "Come at me" attitude towards unecissary flak

", I said "no give me a second to adjust". We tried the large pull again and no one died. Why can't people believe in themselves a little more?
