    MP management tips for summoner?

Let me preface this by saying that I have no inclination to take SMN into any level of endgame beyond expert roulette, since I have no confidence in all the micromanagement that entails. HOWEVER, it's not uncommon for me to run extremely low in mp during pulls, and if the tank is fast enough, that does mean I'm engaging the next pack with a max of 4k mp out of 12k. I keep Aetherflow on CD, but short of spamming ED, I'm at a loss of how I can prevent having such a mediocre resource reserve. Amy advice is appreciated.

You really shouldn't have any MP issues unless you're spamming Ruin III outside of Dreadwyrm Trance, in which case...don't. Also, use Garuda's Contagion to extend your dots, then Bane to spread them across the other mobs so you're not burning a bunch of MP multi-dotting.

The above post is right on target. The key to the job is letting the DoTs and your egi do their work and do burst damage whenever the chances present themselves. Don't fall into the trap of comparing your damage to that of a Black Mage. Their forte is immediate damage, yours is time-release damage with bursts in between.

As for MP management, try not to go too long between Aetherflow recharges. Also don't hesitate to use a charge to recover some MP with Energy Drain.

What I would recommend is layering in Aether abilities alongside your normal rotations. One thing I've heard consistently is always have aetherflow up but also to use your abilities. So the trick there would be to keep at least one aetherflow stack until it's ready to be used again, use the last stack, then use aetherflow again to refresh the stacks and give you a nice little boost to your mp. If you catch your mp getting low, switch from ruin 2 to 1 and continue using your dots and ruin.

I haven't run out of MP on summoner since 2.0 coil. ._.

Use Aetherflow on cooldown, use Ruin 1 when you aren't moving, don't use Ruin III outside of dreadwyrm unless you just wanna burst the last 5% of a boss or something.

I'm not sure how you can be having problems. No offense of course.

Something tells me you're using ruin 3 where you should be using Blizzard 2. Ruin 3 is great but if you over utilizing it you'll be dead in the water. Also, if you have 4 or more targets blizzard 2 is hands down better. It's the same potency at 4 targets for way less mp.
