I once had a BR player I used to run with apologize for the BR community as a whole. He said that pretty much the reason he stuck to English speaking guilds, was to avoid the sheer toxicity of the BR community at large.
"Okay, you want me to feed the enemy team over and over again?" hehe
PVP environment is toxic in general, though some worlds might be worst than others. I think you might've just come across a bad group is all or bad groups. MOBA community is worst than MMO communities.
You can at least blacklist and report for the abusive language too.
It's beneficial to know how to remain calm under pressure and work well with others, so it's no surprise that they tend to rise.Interestingly enough (at least on Aether data center), I've noticed silver and gold players tend to be quite calm in matches and most of the rage I see comes from bronze players. Additionally, players I see raging aren't doing particularly well themselves when they go off on someone. It's common to blame nerdrage on a competitive internet environment, but I sometimes wonder if it's actually a kind of cognitive dissonance people use to defend their skill level if they lose tons of games.
I suppose the best analogy I can come up is the 0/4/0 mid in LoL who blames the jungler for his deaths. Edit: A better analogy might be from StarCraft II where it was common to flip out on someone after a game if they lost to a strategy they didn't find valid (cheesing was, and maybe still is, really rampant in that game).
Attitude is part of skill. If someone is frequently bitching, distracting people, losing focus, and giving up, they're just as much of a detriment to their team as if they didn't have a PVP rotation or grasp of their PVP skills.
90% of the abuse i get from people are from gilga players
Yeah I see lots of this. I had the pleasure of playing with a ninja who blamed me for the lack of DPS in a game that we were losing. So when the game ends he goes "yeah sh*t brd" (he's referring to me) and then quickly leaves. But when I look at the total damage done, he only did 46k while I did 78k. Some people are just delusional like that.Additionally, players I see raging aren't doing particularly well themselves when they go off on someone. I take solace in knowing that this game is a lot less toxic than WoW - coming from a hardcore progression backround from that game, I decided to stay as a casual player in the sense that my "endgame" is just having fun, crafting and looking like a glamor boss. If I do join a group or a raid that has undergeared anything I usually offer up some kind of advice. For the most part it's taken under advisement - 1/3rd of the time it's met with a verbal backlash.
The best one was that a healer was undergeared for a Midas 4 and wasn't properly healing. It was a WHM and at the time I didn't have a healer but I studied the class and offered advice for crossovers - they then went "Well I don't see a healer as one of your classes so go eff yourself"
That was the reason why I rolled a WHM 3 weeks ago and now it's at i220 - which is the most geared class I have - well above my main which is a DRG. So far I've been met with a lot of compliments and commendations - nothing toxic yet. Sorry to hear it happens tho =/
The biggest problem with pvp in ANY game is that you get a bunch of Alpha wannabe type personalities who think they're the hottest player in the game getting their mediocre asses handed to them and then blaming everyone else for being mediocre. Many of these people are the same people that don't follow mechanics in dungeons because they're too "baws" and wonder why they get repeatedly booted from parties for their shitty attitude and poor concept of human decency. They need to calm down and realize if they're getting that angry by fake fighting digital avatars of people playing a fantasy game in which you collect imaginary items ad nauseam, they really need to turn off the game and seek counselling.
Two peanuts are walking down the street. One is a salted.
I like to roleplay the silent warrior who simply Cheers on his allies but it isn't always easy

I was a victim today by 2 gold players in the top 10. They can be so mean when you do bad.
