Oh don't worry, PVE content gets you toxic players as well so it's not like PVP is exclusive with that.

This is what happens when you force players to cooperate with eachother to PvP with a trinity system. People have to heavily rely on another player to survive and if one is not doing as well as the others it can cost the team greatly. This brings expectations for players and causes others to get frustrated being paired with players who don't play like they want them to.Just like the title says. What a nasty little toxic environment SE has created. It's unfortunate that the armchair generals make it so minimizing the chat window is the only way to avoid vapid, disgusting language...I'm not saying I minimize my window, because I secretly enjoy laughing at the Salt Lords having strokes over a piece of furniture, but Im a little ashamed, at least on Primal, of the pvp community. I thought we were better than this.
This could be recovered if healers and dps can use other cross skills to improve their offense and defense capabilities in PvP only to make PvP more free flowing and less restrictive but that thought obviously flies right past SQ's heads. Balance can still be set to avoid cheezy tactics, and can be used to make a better PvP enviroment for all players to generally enjoy. (all those that actually like PvP I mean)
Yep, this too. And for the same reasons. Forcing to cooperate for the same goal will lead to expectations and cause drama. Raids, Savage modes, Hunts, Diadem (lolz), Dungeons, players new to the concept of MMOs etc.

I've been meaning to say this for awhile now. I probably could have worded it in a much nicer way but what I'm starting to see has rushed me to this...
There are many types of attitudes in the feast and a very common one is one built from frustration.
For those of you experiencing this do your upmost best to ignore it. If you are learning and trying your hardest, you have every right to queue as much as the next guy. You may be new or playing a class you want to learn. Nothing says you must be up to "Insert Name" scratch to play.
I recently have changed a lot in my play style from philosophy down to complete rearrangement of my hotbars. This has crippled me beyond belief yet this is detrimental to my improvement as well as playing.
This is no different to some of you who might be new and just starting out. You deserve a fair shot at gaining your experience as well. Your rank is just as important than the next persons and vice versa. There is only one true way to learn and test your capabilities and that's through playing. If you stop the only person that will suffer is yourself.
It's sad that even our top players on the ranking can be so mean and selfish, yet come and post here like they are all about giving back to the community. To me it's shameful and a high rank does not give you any right to talk to people on your own team like complete trash.
Have you no shame?
Let me guess they have to just "git gud" right? When our community is so small, you should feel the need to lead by example. Not only in your gameplay but also how you hold yourself as a player too. Especially if you feel you are a "Top/High level player". If you don't care about another persons feelings then why should they care about your silly Rank?
I don't care if every other PVP scene is toxic that doesn't mean we have to be. We all see the same names in there. Can you not see how damn small we are as a community? Attitudes like this can and will alter our growth.
This message won't reach every player and I'm sure it does not apply to all of you. But it will reach enough of you! I am talking about and to some of you here. And if you feel like it might be about you even a little bit.
Then fix the F*** UP!
Thank you sir, you made my day. I'm really happy to read that kind of speach. I was tired to read everywhere "git gud" or even players making macros to tell their teammates to "git gud or don't go in 4v4 again" or "git gud or uninstall". Gosh guys, is the concept of "human being" THAT abstract ? Maybe were you a god when you stepped in pvp for the 1st time ?
Maybe players are proud to be good and that somehow justify that kind of behavior but it's not the case. I'll have much more respect for a player who tries his best to learn and to be better than a top player acting like a little kiddo just because "it's like that in every pvp community".
Nice words Etro, thank you.
I can attest that it is very frustrating, especially when you've been stuck in a qualifier for almost a week now. But I've adopted the new philosophy of "If you speakto me like I'm trash, I'll absolutely guarantee that I'll start playing like it." Have fun raging at the more stacks I pick up.

Look at the replies not necessarily my post.
Ranked is not just for the experienced. You do understand why you get matched with new people right? Because there is not enough players at your rank (and in queue) to match you all together on the same team!!!!! I understand frustration but that's not the point I'm trying to make. Alongside our growth as a "community". I do not understand how some people feel they have the right to talk to another person, who in fact "IS NEW" like complete trash.
I know I'm not wasting my breath here... I'm only responding to those that may have adopted this behaviour and have the decency to change it.

I think it's worth noting there's a difference between a toxic player and something bad being said to someone; people are just throwing it all in one basket.
A toxic player is someone who instigates an some kind of drama or negatively comments on another player needlessly. I just played as a BRD, got 4 kills, did 120k dmg and still lost. The DRG did 30% less than me, had no kills, was running around for no reason and wasn't backing off when the healer was dead. I bind and LB the healer who healed up with a CD as I popped my ranged LB, animation locked. He comments "lolbrd", "gj with the lb" etc. This is after he failed his own LB twice and died 3 times. He didn't let it go and carried on until he scurried away after seeing his results. He's still low Bronze, I'm halfway up Gold.
Everyone should be able to follow marks and know how to burst a target down by a reasonable amount. It's just a competitive environment and people just want to do well.

Toxic? I guess. Some players really want to win. Being spiteful and under-performing are not gonna help at all, because ironically it's toxic to do bad aswell.
If you are easily hurt by competition stop queueing.
In a competitive setting it's sadly human nature to get angry and lash out at frustration. I'm guilty of this myself on occasion even though I try to be patient and understanding. No one's a saint here though, you get frustrated for an extended period of time sooner or later you are gonna burst if you keep it up. Best thing to do in an extended losing streak is just to stop playing if you feel your blood pressure rising, however as a competitor that's sometimes hard to do. The emotion that goes into a competition is also one of the qualities that make it fun. Problem is that emotion doesn't always come out in a positive format lol.
