I'm down for this. More maps is not a bad thing in a game mode that you play repetitively. It's nice to have variety. I would also like to see WD raised to 60, also for the sake of variety. I'm not losing any sleep over it though.

I think they said there where more maps coming but i could be wrong

Id rather just have lvl 60 Wolves Den if im gonna be honest here
I think most pvp players here wanted a lvl60 WD instead totally new arena mode, atleast i dont remember seeing posts about new mode just "give us lvl60 WD" ones. And i can totally understand why as WD was pure "kill or be killed" mode without any gimmicks.
I used to love running Arenas back in my WoW days. Used to tear up the 2s bracket with a buddy of mine. We ran a troll tank comp. He was a Prot Warrior, I was a Blood DK, back when you would gain Vengeance off of players in PvP. Was rather amusing to be juggernauts of death.
It seems to be the general consensus ... now.
Honestly, I kind of find it funny that WD advocates are coming out of the wood work after so long, because I really don't remember seeing them all that often back before Feast came out. In fact, I don't even remember seeing them back when Secure/Slaughter were in their heyday, especially not in-game. The forums always had a few die hards lobbying for WD, but queue times were pretty terrible. Fact is, the game mode was about two steps shy from being completely dead on a lot of servers, and it was like that for a reason (several, if we're speaking honestly). Even if they bumped it up to 60, I doubt it would stay alive for very long. Repetitive death matches are nice and all, but they weren't enough to keep people interest when 50 was cap. I don't see that magically changing now for the just for sake of nostalgia.

Feast would be absolutely dead in the same amount of time if not for the ranking and "rewards". Its not really a fair comparison as I believe if they had added ranking to WD many players would've played it more. But instead they turned into a tedious grind for pvp ranks with no rewards and eventually bad matchmaking. The game mode wasn't the problem it was SE's flawed vision of pvp
Don't forget, WD was also victim to terrible and primitive systems: Morale, Matchmaking based on PVP rank, etc. It took too long for those changes to those systems to be made, so people just stopped playing.Feast would be absolutely dead in the same amount of time if not for the ranking and "rewards". 60 wd would nedd to have balance because the older one was anything but
I'm not so sure.
This could be just because I haven't had nearly as much time as I'd like to play recently, but so far I haven't gotten at all bored with Feast. What you called "gimmicks," I call depth of gameplay. I've been enjoying the added layer of tactics. Having to actually think about what I'm doing while I play has gone miles for helping the matches feel unique rather than repetitive. I can't say the same in WD, and I know for a fact I'm not the only one. There were a lot of complaints back in the day that it was just the same thing over and over again, and that was a fair complaint because it was true. Every match went the exact same way (Kill order: Healer > Dps > Tank). Each match was just a race to see who had the fastest Dps, and that gets pretty dry after a while.
You're definitely right that ranks and rewards make a HUGE difference, though. Even back before HW, pretty much the only reason I played extra matches of WD was to try and salvage my winning percentage. Pre-made groups made that nearly impossible (another major flaw with WD), but at least I had a reason to queue up. Compared to that, Ranks and Rewards are a substantial improvement, but we'll have to wait and see if they keep people in the loop. Honestly, most people will not average higher than silver rank, so I'm not sure if Rankings will be the main reason people stay.
This, in particular, crushed queue times. I understand why they did it, but they really shot themselves in the foot with this one.
