Disappointed in housing situation.

As a new player to game, I was looking forward to playing with housing asap. To my dismay, not only were new plots not available, they were very costly for newer people to acquire. I am not comfortable having a room attached to a FC with time and energy vested in it and then the possibility of it vanishing one day when I log in...no thanks hehe.

Housing has always been a big part of my gaming fun and experience. I have strongholds that won server guild contest awards in swtor and my wildstar housing was the most fun imaginable! The housing is also affortable to the casual and non-rich player and lets you either have the casual, smaller setting or you can deco yourself into a stuper. Every account is allowed at least one place to hang their hat. That is missing in ffxiv and not sure that will hold my interest for the long term.

Well solutions are already forthcoming. There will be new plots added in 3.3 (about 1-2 months from now) so you can get a house then if you can save enough gil.
Otherwise, 3.4 (probably later this year) will introduce apartments, which are basically FC personal rooms without the FC.

You can't expect to have something people have queued for years attempting to get, even if you have paid real life money as a subscription and feel entitled to it.

I want a Dalamud minion pet but I can't due to it being tied to a real life expired product purchase as well as countless other minions despite how much money I want to throw at them.

That being said, they're already implementing new wards, apartment housing and speculated Ishgardian housing to come. All you need to do is earn your money(gil) in game and have patience.
Your housing also gets released in 45 days if you do not enter the premise and you lose all your 'limited' furniture though you get a 80% refund of your plot's price. (In response to finding your room vanishing)

Agree op. I am fortunate to have a home for my fc, but for those that don't it is very disheartening, whether they are new players or not makes no difference, everyone should have housing available to them. The lack of availability for this long is shameful.

SE has taken a very cheap route with housing specifically by making such a limited design in the first place, tsk tsk.

On a side note: ** Dont expect toooo much creativity in here though op, you get your home, plop down some generic furniture and that's it to the creative end. Coming from Rift dimensions where we actually created and designed everything, spent months working on those beauties, its a real let down here in that regard. The perks are cool with gardening, dying chocobo, airships and im glad they have those! .but ones creativity ends extremely fast in here.

The artists have made some beautiful pieces!!! not denying that, nope! That's not the disappointing aspect.

But be prepared that there is 0 player creativity other then deciding where to plop the same copy of everyone elses furniture down....and which direction to rotate it.... after reaching the item limit in a day that is **

I do hope their additions help the majority get their homes/apartments , they have waited long enough.
